The things I did when I was a child. Haha I can't stop laughing. This prompt made me reflect on my childhood. It was crazy and fun but I try to remember any crazy attitude I portrayed. There was surely some crazy attitude. Childhood is fun, the funniest and best time of my life. I was good at playing and surely I did so many crazy things.

When I was younger, we fought to gain attention from our parents. It was quite obvious who was the favorite for my mother and father. I wasn't among the favorites in the list. I grew up from a family of 7 children. We were much and the chores in the house can easily be shared. My worst house chores was washing plates but most often I see myself do them even with tears. That evening after coming back I refused to wash plates till my mother came back and used a cane on me. That night I washed the plates without anybody helping. I thought my parents hated me, after washing the plate my mother put my food in and asked me to go carry my food in the kitchen. I said I wasn't eating after they finished beating me. It turns out to be a stupid habit,I don't eat whenever they beat me. I didn't know I was doing myself. One of my siblings tried it one day, he refused to eat and nobody spoke to him. We were all waiting how it turned out. I asked myself, hope he will not eat the next day, let me eat his own but it turned out he ate the next day. My father cautioned us after morning devotion the next day after which he laughed at my brother for refusing to eat his food due to a minor argument he had with one of my siblings.

Another silliest thing I did when I was a child was to barb my hair myself with a shaving stick. After school that day I approached my father that I wanted to cut my hair. It was on a Thursday with the warnings of the head teacher that nobody should come to school with bushy hair. I got home crying, begging my father so I can barb my hair that evening instead he told me over the weekend I was going to get a clean cut. I didn't want to go to school the next day which was Friday with my hair still bushy. Instead I did one silly thing. I usually see my father shaving his beards every morning with a shaving stick. Since this can shave hair I decided to try it out. I slowly walked to the toilet that Thursday night with the shaving stick in my pocket. I shaved my hair with it without any mirror. After being satisfied I washed myself and sneaked into my room. It was the next day I saw the design I gave to my hair. Some parts were evenly shaved, some parts weren't. I looked worse than ever, the worst part was my parents didn't talk to me instead my siblings laughed at me. My hair was a total disaster. I got a slab that morning when I began to pester my father to take me to the salon before going to school. Anyway I learnt how to be patient the hard way. I went to school that way and all my friends laughed at me.
Thank you for your time!

😂😂 that’s African parent for you. They actually let you go to school like that😂, i can imagine your classmates given you a name for the hair cut.
If we can’t be patient with things, everything will become a disaster and if we don’t learn the easy way, we’ll learn the hard way, that’s life.

You shaved your hair by yourself, that's hilarious. I was wondering what would have happened if you couldn't get the hair fixed before going to school the next day.

Everyone in my family knows that no matter how sad or pissed I am, I don't reject food. Thanks for participating in the Hive Naija weekly prompt.
