June 30, 2020--Practice Blog in the time of the virus

Lots of Organ practice today, and Yard work. I got out of the house early for an oil change on my car. Then went to the church to practice. Bumped into the custodian that turned the air conditioning on for me. This helped immensely. Afterwards, I stopped by a local hardware store and picked up a couple of plants and a hanging basket for the backyard. I spent most of the afternoon working in the backyard: planting new plants and mowing the grass. I also put in new grass seed in places that needed it. So, I'm a little sore now. Afterwards, I spent a nice couple of hours drinking beer and reading in the back yard:

On the organ, I worked on the eighth movement of Couperin's Mass of the Convents. I recorded it and sent it the the SOOP basecamp site for review. Vidas gave me some great advice. I also worked on BWV 636 from the Orgelbuchlein for this weeks SOOP contest. Began work on BWV 637. Also worked on Mendelssohn B-flat Major sonata, last movement and read through a prelude by Dubois that I can use for this Sunday's service.
