Previously I had a yamaha bws, and a suzuki FR - 80 semi automatic, and, whenever I needed a job I went to the mechanic, but as the times and the economy have changed, now I have put myself, and, I have already done several jobs to my bike; the most recent, was this afternoon that I changed the chain, because the one I had was very stretched; and, it is important, that this is in good condition, because at the time of running represents a danger, running the risk of coming off, causing accidents!
Today, I want to share with you the #tutorial, quick and easy so you can make this change at home:

Estoy emocionado de estar por aca con ustedes en mi primera publicacion, mi nombre es Juan Gomez, esposo, padre de 3, docente de profesion; mi usuario es @jerm20, hace mucho tiempo que no publico, pero visitando unas comunidades me encontré con esta que, se adapta bastante a mi, ya que tengo una moto, titan 150, y, debido a que el trabajo de mecanica sale bastante costoso, me he puesto yo mismo a aprender a echarle llave a mi moto, ademas, soy muy exigente y, me gusta que las cosas queden bien, por eso mejor las hago yo mismo, jejeje
Anteriormente tuve una bws yamaha, y una suzuki FR - 80 semi automatica, y, siempre que necesitaba un trabajo iba al mecanico, pero como los tiempos y la economía han cambiado, ahora yo mismo me he puesto, y, ya le he realizado varios trabajos a mi moto; el mas reciente, fue esta tarde que le cambie la cadena, porque la que tenía estaba muy estirada; y, es importante, que esta este en buenas condiciones, porque a la hora de correr representa un peligro, corriendo el riesgo de que se salga, ocasionado accidentes!
Hoy, quiero compartirles el #tutorial, rápido y sencillo para que puedan hacer este cambio en casa:

The chain press is almost at the top, as the chain stretches the chain press allows us to adjust it to a certain extent, but as everything has a limit, when this limit is reached we proceed to change the chain.
Aca podemos apreciar lo estirada que está la cadena, el desgaste de la misma es normal con los Km recorridos, aunque tambien va a depender de la calidad de la misma, esta como se aprecia esta muy estirada. Se pudiera recortar pero igual seria un riesgo.
El prensa cadena ya esta casi al tope, a medida que la cadena se va estirando el prensa cadena nos permite hasta cierto punto ajustarla, pero como todo tiene un límite, al alcanzar dicho límite se procede a hacer el cambio de la misma.

Once the chain is removed I proceed to make the corresponding adjustments to be able to mount the new chain. The first thing to do is to loosen the rear pin nut using a 3/4 wrench, in order to be able to move or push the rubber forward, also loosen the two nuts that hold the chain press on both sides, with a 10 wrench, otherwise it would be impossible to move the pin with the rubber forward. A screwdriver or any other tool can be used to push the pin forward, this is done on both sides of the pin so that it is well centered.
Con la ayuda de un alicate o pinza se procede a quitar el seguro con el pasador para remover la cadena.
Una vez quitada la cadena procedo a hacer los ajustes correspondientes para poder montar la cadena Nueva, Lo primero que debe hacer aflojar la tuerca del pasador trasero usando una llave 3/4, para así poder mover o empujar el caucho hacia delante, tambien se debe aflojar las dos tuercas que sujetan al prensa cadena en ambos lados, con una llave 10, de no ser así sería imposible mover el pasador con el caucho hacia adelante. Se puede utilizar un destornillador o cualquier otra herramienta para empujar el pasador hacia adelante, se hace de ambos lados del pasador para que este quede bien centrado.

Todo el procedimiento anterior nos va a permitir sacar el Máximo provecho a la cadena Nueva, pues mientras más adelante este el pasador con el caucho más ajustada va a quedar la cadena, sabiendo que está con el tiempo se va estirando.
Luego se procede a presentar la cadena Nueva, para así medir y proceder a cortarla.
To cut the chain, it is best to use a chain pick or a press. I don't have either, but a neighbor has a press and helped me cut it.
And of course what remains is simpler, just mount it, place the lock, verify that the chain is well aligned with the sprocket and the crown, then proceed to tighten the pin nut and that's it. To verify that the chain is aligned correctly, just turn the rubber and see the trajectory of the chain.
Para cortar la cadena lo mas recomendable es usar un pica cadena, o una prensa, yo particularmente no cuento con ninguna de las dos ja ja ja, pero un vecino tiene una prensa y me ayudó a cortarla.
Y por supuesto lo que resta es más simple, solo montarla, se coloca el seguro, verificar que la cadena esté bien alineada con el piñón y la corona, lugo procedo a apetarta la tuerca del pasador y Listo. Para verificar que la cadena esté alineada correctamente solo se debe girar el caucho y ver la trayectoria de la cadena.
This is how the new chain is ready. It is important to note that when changing the chain it is RECOMMENDED to change the complete running gear, i.e. chain, sprocket and sprocket, for greater SAFETY... In my case I did not do it because the sprocket and the crown are in perfect condition. The chain was of very poor quality.
Así, queda lista la nueva cadena. Es importante destacar que la hora de cambiar la cadena es RECOMENDABLE cambiar el tren de rodaje completo es decir Cadena, piñon y corona, para Mayor SEGURIDAD... En mi caso No lo hice porque el piñón y la corona están en perfecto estado. La cadena era de muy mala calidad.

Eso de cambiar la cadena se ve muy bien y creo que ayudará a la comunidad porque en mi caso al KLR se le comró la cadena de $400 y ¿qué le parece? que no se la cambiaron, solo la aceitaron o pulieron y ya. Me alegro que compres y repares tus cosas tu mismo. Saludos.
