Today was another exciting day in the UEFA champions league. It happened to be the day in which some teams get the chance to secure progression to the next round, some to the Europa and the rest exit the european competition completely till next season.

Group E

This group has to be one of the toughest group as those to qualify had to fight for it on the last day.

Napoli v Genk

Napoli had the better of the game as they brushed Genk aside in a 4-0 win. Goals came through a hatrick from Milik and a goal from Mertens.

Salzburg vs Liverpool

Defending champion Liverpool had to sweat it out at the Redbull stadium to pick maximum points in 0-2 win. Their goals came through N. Keita and Mo Salah.

Liverpool tops this group with a point advantage over Napoli. Salzburg will have to have challenge in the Europa for an European silverware.

Group F

Borussia Dortmund vs Slavia Prague

A slight 2-1 win from Dortmund helped them secure qualification in a tough encounter against Slavia Prague. Goals came from Sancho and Brandt

Inter vs Barcelona

After Barcelona announced the list of 21 players to travel to italy, i personally expected Inter to knock Barcelona out due to the absence of Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi and star defender Pique. Unfortunately that wasn't the case as Barcelona still went ahead to pick up a 1-2 win against a team that needed the victory more, due to the fact that Barca passage was already sealed as at their last match.

Barcelona and Dortmund makes it to the last round while inter to the Europa.

Group G

Benfica vs Zenit

Portuguese champion still had to bow out despite their 3-0 win to Zenit. They didn't quite start the tournament well and that cost them qualification to the next round. They'll have to battle it out in the Europa.

Lyon vs Lepzig Both side already had a foot in the next round especially the German side. They played an entertaining 2-2 draw in France

Group H

This group had to be the most competitive group so far in the champions as most of them had to play their last game to know fate.

Ajax vs Valencia

Last season semi finalist ajax was a huge disappointment as they started the competition well but had to crash out on the final day of group game. They lost by a lone goal at home to Valencia.

Chelsea vs Lille The Blues sealed qualification by defeating an already condemned Lille 2-1 at Stamford bridge.

Valencia and Chelsea ended with the same point and goal difference but Valencia had to top the group by virtue of superior head to head
