Despite the hot sun, our list was checked.

I didn't want to go to the market today because I felt so weak and tired after sitting on bus for an hour on my way to my sister's place. A 30mins trip turned into an hour trip because of a roadblock that was caused by a long trailer. All the buses on the road had to pass another road which wasn't okay at all, worst of all vehicles had to move slowly because they were all jam-packed in the road.

Well, my sister succeeded in convincing in following her to the market, I agreed because of two reasons, the first reason why I agreed was because it occurred to me that today is Friday, which we know here on hive as #Marketfriday by @dswigle
The second reason why I followed her was because I needed to get an item for myself. I ended up not getting it though because I couldn't find it.

I will just share pictures of the very busy market we went to. My sister got some tailoring materials for herself, she got a shoe and some jewelry.

My fellow Nigerians who live in Lagos and knows the iyana-ipaja market will understand how crowded and busy the market can be.

Our first stop on getting to the market was a shoe and bag store.

My sister has a big leg so getting her shoe size was challenging because almost all the shoe vendors had only small sizes available.

This was one of the shoes she picked but it wasn't her actual size so we decided to check other stores to see if we would get a prettier design which would be her actual size. We searched the other stores and finally stopped at one where we found this.

She got this for $20. It was so above her budget but she got it anyway because we didn't want to spend so much time at the market and it was important that she got atleast one.

After getting the shoe, we went to the store where fabric materials are sold.

I left her to buy the materials she needed so I could take pictures.

Finally we went to a mini jewelry place, there she got headbands and a earring. We didn't buy much there.

As we moved around the market to make sure that we had gotten all that we had listed, the sun wasn't merciful at all. It was so hot that I had to stop somewhere to buy a very chilled coke.

That's all for today's market.

You and your sister really got some shopping in! What size shoe does she wear? I really liked the first pair she had, the second pair look like they may hurt after a while!

You got the jewelry and everything. Power shoppers!

Thank you so much for being a part of #MarketFriday! I am so happy to see such an awesome response to the challenge. The response was overwhelming this week, so I apologize for the brevity, It is a holiday weekend and I have had family from out of town since Wednesday, so time is not mine. I promise you, I am never this short! :)

#MarketFriday has evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I can only hope this to be true.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
    5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  5. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
  6. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

She uses size 44/45 (big size)
The first pair of shoes didn't fit her well, the extra space at the hill of her feet was so much. It's also the same with the second shoe, only that the extra space in the second shoe wasn't as obvious as the first one.
We bought just one earring.🙂Thanks for stopping by ma'am.
