Falling into Temptation.

Nobody can escape being tempted in life, even the Saviour of the world was tempted so who are we to say that we can't be tempted?
The only thing we can do is to pray for strength to not fall into temptation.

I'm not a lover of zee world movies but the people I stay with are obsessed with them and because of that, I join them once in a while when I'm not busy watching the movie that is usually shown at night called 'Bridal Material '. Ever since I started watching it with them, one thing has gotten my attention and it is how the lead female character 'Meera' would always pray to her God, asking what she should do and what way to go, she never depended on her thinking alone but would always ask her God. This is the right way to go to live right.

Temptation can come in different forms and if one isn't careful, one may likely fall, and falling into temptation may be accompanied by regrets.

As a makeup artist, I've always felt discouraged each time I finish working on someone because I don't have a good camera to take a picture of it. This is a kind of skill that requires a good shot after it has been done, for advert purposes.

It's on my mind to get an iPhone for that purpose, the good reviews about its camera are high. However, right now, what I need majorly is accommodation because I would have to leave where I am currently on the 7th of July.

Speaking of July which is next month, my birth month with the date 21st, I'm wishing so much that most of my needs and wants would be met at least 15% of it. I need accommodation, I want earbuds, an iPhone, a guitar, bags, shoes, Perfume oils, clothes, etc. These are my wishes for the special month of July.

On Sunday, my sister's husband, who is into phones and It accessories came to my parent's place to say hi. After greetings were exchanged, I went back to what I was doing and after a while, my phone which I had bought from him caught his attention and he was like ' oh Jessie, you're still enjoying your LG G6 device .'

I smiled and said yes, then he replied, stretching his hands towards me as he gestured that I should take a look at the phone he was holding.

Looking through the phone for a few minutes, I could tell that it was an iPhone but didn't know which one it was exactly. When I asked, he replied, saying that it was an iPhone 7.

I replied saying "okay" and asked how much it would cost to swap it with my phone. He answered saying that it would cost me fifty thousand naira but I could just pay forty thousand naira and payments can be made in two weeks.

At that point, I was seriously tempted to sell my hbd which I have been saving for accommodation purposes, I was tempted to take it out to pay for that.

Ild feel my inner selves struggling with themselves as some lecturing went on in my mind.

Mind 1 said; I truly want this phone, having it for myself would be nice.

Mind 2 said; Yes! I know you want it but there's a time for everything, stay focused on what your initial plans were, and don't give in to the false hope of satisfaction this temptation is bringing so you won't have regrets later.

Almost immediately, I summoned courage and told my brother-in-law that the money I have available is meant for something else and there is currently no budget for a phone but when I'm ready I would let him know.

I was happy that I was able to overcome that temptation.
Let's not forget that it comes in different forms and usually gives us this false sense of peace and satisfaction, it would only be a matter of time before regrets set in.
