Within the great community of Hive, this space of humanitas is ideal to share and contribute our reflections not only on what has been said about the human being and all that surrounds and concerns him, but also on what we can learn from today's human beings with their history, decisions, attitudes and circumstances, either to emulate them in a certain way or to avoid following their paths.

Let this very brief introduction serve as a starting point for two recent events: Shakira's song Monotony and the leaked video of the model Genesis Aleska, who in apparent desperation performs rites so that, among other things, her former partner Nicky Jam will return to her. Beyond the showmanship involved in both events, what I am interested in highlighting in this post, is that in both cases I feel that what from a human point of view we can miss is the lack of self-love.

Shakira's song, somewhat catchy at certain times, denotes a not wanting to take responsibility for the end of a relationship, since "it was not your fault, nor mine, it was the fault of the monotony" but besides this it seems that already during the relationship there was an imbalance, one of the two gave more than the other, and it is here where self-love is necessary to balance a relationship.

Indeed, loving each other healthily and with balance allows us to have a kind of sensors that warn us when someone is abusing us. Now it is not only necessary for us to notice, we must act, not remain silent or inert waiting for the pressure cooker to explode. "I never said anything, but it hurt, I knew this would happen."

The video clip of this song was what I liked the least and in a way inspired this writing, since it is about someone (Shakira in this case) who is left without a heart after the failure of a relationship, and to top it off, she does not recover it but leaves it locked in a box without taking into account that it is with that same heart that we love ourselves.

In relation to this self-love, I would also like to share a few words with the most recent case I have mentioned above. A woman who makes her future love depend on external "supernatural" forces. It makes me think of those little comics where those things do work but when the spell is over, everything goes back to normal because in reality there was no genuine and true love.

Well, this is where I see the relationship with what I have been talking about, and that is that love begins with oneself, and that if one loves oneself enough it is not necessary to turn to external things because above is the confidence in oneself that by one's own qualities and way of being can attract the best for oneself.

Our first love should always be ourselves, because if we do not love ourselves we cannot force anyone to love us, and if we do, I feel it would be very sad because if there is something that makes love extraordinarily beautiful is its freedom.
