[Esp-Eng] El trabajo una realidad variopinta || Work, a multifaceted reality
Para la iniciativa de esta semana en la comunidad de humanitas se nos invita a proponer desde la semiótica, definida y expuesta de manera sucinta y espectacular en el anuncio al que hemos hecho referencia, pero que en resumidas cuentas podemos comprender como la ciencia de los "signos" entendiendo a los mismos como los diversos significados que para nosotros puede tener una misma realidad. Por ejemplo, un celular lo puedo interpretar como conexión pero también como progreso de la técnica del ser humano, entre otras cosas.
Sin más dilaciones, en la iniciativa se nos ha invitado a aplicar la semiótica a la cotidianidad, específicamente en relación con un tema que es muy cercano a cada uno, esto es: el trabajo. Mi propuesta es la siguiente, les presentaré un collage de unas fotos que reflejan dos de las actividades que realizo en mi día a día pero iré también más allá de las mismas ofreciendo mi interpretación de algunos signos, al final me darán la razón del título de este post, el trabajo es una realidad con muchas caras.
For this week's initiative in the humanitas community we are invited to propose from semiotics, defined and exposed in a succinct and spectacular way in the announcement to which we have made reference, but that in short, we can understand as the science of "signs" understood as the diverse meanings that for us can have the same reality. For example, a cell phone can be interpreted as a connection and as progress in human technology, among other things.
Without further ado, in the initiative we have been invited to apply semiotics to everyday life, specifically in relation to a subject that is very close to each one of us, that is: work. My proposal is the following, I will present a collage of some photos that reflect two of the activities that I perform in my day-to-day but I will also go beyond them by offering my interpretation of some signs, at the end, you will give me the reason for the title of this post, work is a reality with many faces.
El trabajo, una bendición
La imagen del templo inmediatamente traslada mi mente a interpretar el trabajo como una bendición y no como una maldición, cosa que se puede desprender del versículo bíblico que habla de que como consecuencia del pecado el hombre deberá ganar el pan de cada día con el sudor de su frente (Génesis 3,19). En realidad, esto hace referencia al esfuerzo que implica las cosas buenas de la vida pero no es para que tengamos una visión pesimista y negativa del hecho de trabajar. Más bien, es todo lo contrario puesto que tener la oportunidad de levantarse cada día y tener qué hacer para llevar pan a la mesa es algo que nos motiva en nuestra camino diario.
Precisamente es lo que me gusta también de la imagen del templo ya que en su horizonte se divisa un cielo hermoso, levemente iluminado por el sol como símbolo aquí de que quien trabaja la vida le bendice, se les abren puertas, nunca le faltará una luz que le guíe en la vida. Al respecto vale acotar como la misma Biblia está llena de referencias a la santificación del trabajo por parte de Dios, como por ejemplo el hecho de que Jesús de Nazareth fue y así era reconocido por muchos como "el hijo del carpintero", es decir, San José.
Work, a blessing
The image of the temple immediately moves my mind to interpret work as a blessing and not as a curse, something that can be inferred from the biblical verse that speaks of the fact that as a consequence of sin man must earn his daily bread by the sweat of his brow (Genesis 3,19). In reality, this refers to the effort involved in the good things of life, but it is not so that we have a pessimistic and negative view of the fact of working. Rather, it is the opposite, since having the opportunity to get up every day and have something to do to put bread on the table motivates us in our daily journey.
This is precisely what I also like about the image of the temple, since on its horizon a beautiful sky can be seen, slightly illuminated by the sun as a symbol here that those who work, life blesses them, doors open for them, and they will never lack a light to guide them in life. In this regard, it is worth noting how the Bible itself is full of references to the sanctification of work by God, such as the fact that Jesus of Nazareth was and was recognized by many as "the son of the carpenter", that is, St. Joseph.
El trabajo, un servicio
La imagen de la Iglesia también me trae referencia a uno de los mensajes centrales que deja Jesucristo a sus seguidores y es que debemos imitarle a Él que no vino a ser servido sino a servir (Mateo 20,28). El trabajo para mí también es esto, un servicio que se presta a las personas y a la sociedad en general para ayudarles a progresar en algún aspecto de sus vidas. Por eso, a los que están buscando trabajo siempre les aconsejo que no piensen sólo en el dinero sino en ofrecer un servicio de calidad, ya que cuando éste se da lo otro es una consecuencia, e incluso supera nuestra expectativas, pues nos empiezan a recomendar diciendo: "Es muy bueno en lo que hace", "Es un profesional en la materia", "Es honrado(a)", "Te lo recomiendo con los ojos cerrados", etc.
Pasemos ahora a considerar también la foto del collage que está al lado de la imagen del templo, ese soy yo realizando un post para hive en mi computador aunque a primera vista parezca que esto no tiene nada que ver con un servicio, para mí si lo es, pues, siempre me gusta dejar algo que le pueda servir a los demás en todo lo que realizo, ya sea un tutorial, una experiencia o una disertación, lo cual me hace feliz y es mi mayor recompensa.
Work, a service
The image of the Church also brings me to one of the central messages that Jesus Christ leaves to his followers and that is that we must imitate Him who did not come to be served but to serve (Matthew 20,28). Work for me is also this, service rendered to people and society, in general, to help them progress in some aspect of their lives. For this reason, I always advise those who are looking for a job not to think only about money but to offer a quality service, because when this is given the other is a consequence, and even exceeds our expectations, because they start to recommend us saying: "He is very good at what he does", "He is a professional in the field", "He is honest", "I recommend him with my eyes closed", etc.
Let's consider now also the photo of the collage that is next to the image of the temple, that's me making a post for hive on my computer although at first glance it seems that this has nothing to do with a service, for me it is because I always like to leave something that can be useful to others in everything I do, whether a tutorial, an experience or a dissertation, which makes me happy and is my greatest reward.
El trabajo y desarrollo personal
Siguiendo con la imagen que en el último párrafo he comentado mi presencia en la plataforma de Hive me ha ayudado a crecer a nivel personal y no lo digo simplemente en una dimensión material sino global porque me gusta escribir y he encontrado aquí un lugar donde expresar todas las capacidades y talentos con que la vida me ha bendecido. De igual manera, todo trabajo va más allá de su aspecto económico porque es una dimensión intrínseca del ser humano para su crecimiento, de allí la importancia de la vocación que tengamos para el mismo, porque nos asegura ponerle pasión a lo que realicemos y que no cause en nosotros más bien una frustración.
El trabajo es una expresión de nuestro ser, ya que en él expresamos no sólo lo que somos sino también la manera en la que somos. Por ejemplo, yo puedo estar hablando de un mismo tema que otro usuario (como las iniciativas que proponemos cada semana en esta comunidad) pero ponerle mi sello, de esta manera me voy realizando cada vez, encontrando y manifestando al mismo tiempo mi esencia
Work and personal development
Continuing with the image that in the last paragraph I have commented my presence in the Hive platform has helped me to grow on a personal level and I do not say this simply in a material dimension but globally because I like to write and I have found here a place to express all the capabilities and talents that life has blessed me with. Similarly, all work goes beyond its economic aspect because it is an intrinsic dimension of the human being for his growth, hence the importance of the vocation we have for it because it ensures us to put passion into what we do and that does not cause us rather a frustration.
Work is an expression of our being since in it we express not only what we are but also the way we are. For example, I can be talking about the same topic as another user (such as the initiatives we propose each week in this community) but put my stamp on it, in this way I am fulfilling myself each time, finding and manifesting at the same time my essence.

Me gustó la reinterpretación que haces del texto bíblico. En mi infancia en todos los discursos que escuchaba sobre el trabajo se hablaba de él como una especie de castigo, y muchas veces se acudía al versículo que mencionas para reforzar esa idea.
