A walk to a paradise in the mountains (Spanish/English)

A loving greeting to all my Hive friends. Especially to those who come every Wednesday to share their great adventures in this beautiful community. This time I wanted to join this beautiful sharing and tell you a little of what was my walk to one of the most beautiful places near my city. In the Libertad Municipality, also known as Capacho Viejo, in the state of Tachira, there is a beautiful tourist place. This has always been known as "El cerro del cristo", but it is actually called "Monumento a cristo rey".

Literally this is a beautiful hill from where you can see many towns and the whole city. Unfortunately I could not take pictures because it was cloudy and you could barely see the thick fog that embraced the hill. In the middle of this beautiful expanse of green grass and pine trees there is a monument 8 meters high. The figure that rises at the top of this building is Christ the King. It was inaugurated in 1960 and restored in 2002.

We did the tour by motorcycle. The plan was to film while we were riding, but leaving the village at the foot of the hill we fell off the bike and that made us quite nervous. It was the first time we went and we didn't know the road, so we put all our attention on getting there safely and that's why we didn't allow ourselves to film on the road.

One of the most beautiful things was the company. We were fortunate to go with very kind friends who welcomed us in their home and gave us the tour since they are natives of the Capacho Viejo Municipality. Our friend Cleomaris and her mother Rosa were the main responsible for this beautiful adventure. And we were welcomed by her aunt Edith and her cousin Rogers. Super warm people who gave us a lot of attention in their beautiful home.

In this beautiful paradise there are many traditional food and dessert places. My dear @aly.squid and I preferred to buy some strawberries with cream and a Quesillo cake, traditional sweet dishes from the Venezuelan paradise. Everything we ate was delicious, the girl who sold us the desserts told us that the place was usually very busy and that there were always options to eat and enjoy. There is also entertainment such as horseback riding and games of tejo and bolas criollas, also very typical of the region.

After some time there we decided to return because there were signs of rain and as it is a steep road and can get cloudy, we wanted to avoid those risks.

The truth was a wonderful day, because later we went by cab to another small town that represents a very important tourist spot in the state of Táchira. It is Peribeca, neighbor of Capacho. We decided not to go by motorcycle because the road is in a state of abandonment and we thought it was dangerous. But by cab it was super comfortable and quiet.

In Peribeca we had a delicious hot dog for dinner and walked through the stone streets. We returned home at midnight, happy, satisfied and a little tired after a day of adventures.

De paseo a un paraíso entre las montañas (Español/Ingles)

Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de Hive. Especialmente a quienes vienen cada miércoles a compartir sus grandiosas aventurar en esta bella comunidad. Esta vez me quise unir a este hermoso compartir y contarles un poco de lo que fue mi paseo a uno de los lugares más hermosos que hay cerca de mi ciudad. En el Municipio Libertad, también conocido como Capacho Viejo, en el estado Táchira hay un hermoso lugar turístico. Este siempre ha sido conocido como “El cerro del cristo”, pero en realidad se llama “Monumento a cristo rey”.

Literalmente este es un cerro hermoso desde donde se puede ver muchos pueblos y toda la ciudad. Lamentablemente no pude sacar fotos porque estaba todo nublado y a penas se alcanzaba a ver la espesa niebla que abrazaba el cerro. En medio de esta bellísima extensión de pasto verde y pinos hay un monumento de 8 metros de altura. La figura que se levanta en la punta de esta edificación es Cristo Rey. Fue inaugurado en 1960 y restaurado en el 2002.

El recorrido lo hicimos en moto. El plan era grabar mientras rodábamos, pero saliendo del pueblo que queda a los pies del cerro nos caímos de la moto y eso nos puso bastante nerviosas. Era la primera vez que íbamos y no conocíamos la carretera, así que pusimos toda nuestra atención en llegar a salvo y por eso no nos permitimos grabar en carretera.

Una de las cosas más hermosas fue la compañía. Tuvimos la fortuna de ir con amigos muy amables que nos acogieron en su casa y nos hicieron el recorrido ya que ellos si son nativos del Municipio Capacho Viejo. Nuestra amiga Cleomaris y su madre Rosa fueron las principales responsables de esta bella aventura. Y fuimos acogidas por su tía Edith y su primo Rogers. Personas súper cálidas que nos brindaron muchas atenciones en su hermosa casa.

En este hermoso paraíso hay muchos sitios de comida y postras tradicionales. Mi querida @aly.squid y yo preferimos comprar unas fresas con crema y una torta Quesillo, platos dulces tradicionales del paramos Venezolano. Todo lo que comimos estaba delicioso, la chica que nos vendió los postres nos comentó que generalmente estaba muy activo el lugar y que siempre había opciones para comer y disfrutar. Además hay divertimientos tales como paseo en caballo y juegos de tejo y bolas criollas, también muy típicos de la region.

Después de un tiempo allí decidimos retornar ya que había indicios de lluvia y como es una carretera empinada y que puede nublarse, quisimos evitar esos riesgos.

La verdad fue un día maravilloso, pues más tarde nos fuimos en taxi para otro pueblito que representa un punto turístico muy importante en el estado Táchira. Se trata de Peribeca vecino de Capacho. Decidimos no ir en moto porque la vía está en estado de abandono y nos pareció peligroso. Pero en taxi fue súper cómodo y tranquilo.

Estando en Peribeca cenamos un rico perro caliente y caminamos por las calles de piedra. Regresamos a media noche a la casa, felices, satisfechos y un poco cansado después de un día de aventuras.
