As a parent, there are moments that fill your heart with joy and pride, moments that you want to capture and cherish forever. One such moment for me was witnessing my daughter's excitement during her school's Book Week culminating activity. She was so surprised to see me at their school parade because she thought I would not be there as I had work. But I couldn’t miss this special occasion, knowing it only happens once a year and it was her first time participating.

From the moment the idea was announced that they’d dress up as their favorite book character, my daughter couldn't contain her excitement. She spent days deliberating over which character to choose, flipping through the pages of her favorite books, and imagining herself stepping into the shoes of various princesses. Finally, after much contemplation, she settled on a character that has captured the hearts of millions worldwide – Elsa from Disney's "Frozen."

But what made this Book Week even more special was that my daughter wasn't going to experience it alone. She had made a pact with her best friend, Ianabella, to have matching outfits.

Arriving at the school with her Daddy, she was amazed to see many princesses and princes in the lobby. She even told her Dad that next time she wanted to be Mulan, knowing it was my favorite Disney character. When I entered the school, it was the perfect time because it was the parade of characters, and there I saw my little princess in her stunning dress. She giggled and hugged me when she saw me, saying, “I thought you’re not coming, Mommy,” and then gave me a kiss.

But the highlight of the day was undoubtedly when the children gathered in the school hall for a special assembly. Each class took turns presenting their favorite books and characters, showcasing their love for literature through skits, songs, and recitations. My daughter and Ianabella's class performed a heartwarming interpretative dance rendition of the 7 Days of Creation.

As I watched my daughter and Ianabella take center stage, their matching outfits a symbol of their friendship and shared love for storytelling, I felt a swell of pride in my heart. In that moment, I realized that Book Week wasn't just about dressing up and having fun – it was about fostering camaraderie and inspiration.

Vibrant activity where blue stands out with its beauty. Happy and participative children. How I would have loved to be there with my guitar as a gue
