Happy 3rd Birthday Hive and powering up some Hive

It looks like it's almost time for the 3rd anniversary of Hive and there is an initiative going on with prizes to power up as well. I started my journey on Hive around 2 and a half years ago so I wasn't part of the previous chain before the hard fork. Throughout my journey on Hive, I have felt that it is fulfilling and it's something that I enjoy doing. You are rewarded for being active on the blockchain and everyone counts towards the journey.

Powerup

1.- Your upvotes become more valuable.
2.- Earn more curation rewards.
3.- Earn interest for your Hive Power.
4.- You can delegate your Hive Power to curation projects and earn passive rewards.
5.- The more Hive Power you have, the more Resource Credits. This will let you do more transactions in the blockchain.
6.- You strengthen your influence on the blockchain.

I liked this from "@"theycallmedan's post about why to powerup in the birthday initiative. It lists the main ways Hive Power (HP) can be useful and generate a return for you as well give you more influence over the blockchain. I personally prefer to make my own upvotes more valuable and it has been generating me returns in interest and curation. At the same time, I have plenty of RCs and I have been using them lately to create account tokens. While these tokens might not have any use right now, I can generally collect one every 5-6 days if I remember. The costs for creating a token fluctuates but I have been having less issues claiming them as my Hive Power has gone up.

There are also up to 100k in delegation prizes if you power up today (in UTC time). I don't think I will qualify for the prizes because I don't want to use Twitter but I think it's fun to get in on the fun regardless. I will share this post on Publish0x because I share a few posts there from time to time but I don't know if that qualifies me or not.

My Powerup

I have powered up 10 Hive today and you can verify the transaction here. It will help me towards reaching my 2023 Hive goals because I expect myself to need more powerups towards the end of the year to make sure I reach it. Either that or be more active but I am not sure which one to pursue. Either way, having more HP is a good thing and I am doing my part to contribute towards making the Hive blockchain great.

Conclusion

I did my powerup and I don't see it any different from Hive Power Up Day(HPUD). All of that Hive Power adds up over time and it will help me in my 2023 goals because more Hive Power also means more curation rewards and my influence on proposals/witnesses become more powerful. All of this adds up over time.
