Splinterlands Weekly Challenge Battle BATTLE MAGE SECRETS! Five Alive

Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a specific card and on this week's post it is a battle with the Five Alive rule set. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because you get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Born Again, Briar Patch, and Five Alive. This means that all monsters gain the rebirth and thorns ability. We are also limited to 5 monsters. There is also 25 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, water, life, or dragon splinter.

The summoner I chose to use this time is Kelya Frendul. It increases my speed and armor by 1.

Pelacor Conjurer21stFlying and Magic Reflect
Void Dragon52ndFlying and Void
Dax Paragon23rdAmplify

Total Mana:24

I plan to use Pelacor Conjurer as my tank with flying and magic reflect. Then I have Void Dragon in 2nd spot with flying and void to deal with magic monsters after Conjurer dies. Next, I have Dax Paragon with amplify to increase the thorns and magic reflect damage. My last two monsters are ranged monsters to deal with any void monsters. One of them has shatter and the other has tank heal.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage because my opponent's damage is mainly from melee monsters and that doesn't work well for my opponent due to the thorns. I also have shatter and magic monsters to deal with the armor my opponent has.

Round 4

round 4.png
Both I and my opponent lost 1 monster but my opponent has gotten stronger due to the bloodlust monster. It's still a melee monster though so it's not that large of an issue.

Round 6

round 6.png
I was able to take out the bloodlust monster so this match will be my win. The thorns worked against my opponent and I was able to take out his bloodlust monster without too many issues. I still have tank heal so any damage taken will be healed up.

conclusion.png
I won the match a few rounds later as I expected.

Conclusion

The battle went exactly as I expected. Using 5 monsters limited my options a bit but I was able to play the battle according to the other rulesets. By doing so, I was able to take out my opponent and I was surprised to see my opponent use so many melee monsters. The bloodlust monster could have been dangerous but I was able to overcome that through the rest of my monsters. It's too bad that my opponent did not use any magic monsters but I was still able to win the match because my opponent only had a single attacker the entire fight.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.

Greet strategy there. Playing to the Ruleset. The Quois the devious didn't really do much but it allowed you to summon the cards you needed. The opponent just followed a different approach

Yea. I think playing to the ruleset is quite important. The slightest advantage can lead to a win.

Were you only given the opportunity to choose five monsters in that fight or you could choose more if you wanted to?

You can usually have up to six monsters so the ruleset cuts that down to 5.
