Land 1-3-3: The massive metropolis

 

🤼 Overview, odds & stats

7-stars mean serious business. They're uncommon, and this one comes with 3-star Wealth. Damn. Your odds of pulling any 7-star are 12% or about 1 in 8. There are six 7-star combos, so this exact NFT's odds are roughly 1 in 48.

🤔 Interpretation

If we were happy with the options 6-stars gives us, that extra star on the 7's is just that much sweeter. So sweet in fact, that the "WOO skew" odds on this set of NFTs starts its nerf with the 7's. Meaning that compared to a normal distribution, 6 and below are more common (buffed), and 7 and up are less common (nerfed!) The chart at the end of the post visualizes this.

So: the game makers recognize that things start to really heat up with 7 stars. They're not wrong: max base Population and Wealth leads to a whopping 2,500 rich Fans, with a big space to slather on upgrades.

The worst part about 7-stars (and up) may be the paradox of choice!

 

🕹️ Strategies

1️⃣ As usual, cater to those Fans. If your shows are big or small, they should be filled with as many Fans as possible. And you get a lot of Fan rolls. So I might first work on the upgrades that let Fans beat people to the shows. From what I can guess, the way it will work is, for every show:

• All Fans rolls their "am I going?" roll (55% chance to say yes)
• All People roll their "am I going?" roll (1% chance to say yes)
• For each seat in the show, a "People or Fan?" roll occurs (50/50 chance)

Now, for a show with 100,000 attending (something you can aspire to with a 3-star Population), having the game roll 200,000 times (decisions + seat fills) minimum might be a bad choice for performance. I'm no dev, but that just sounds silly, so I'm sure there's probably a more clever way to build the show composition.

My POINT is, there's some factor that makes it so attending Fans arrive first and ensure they get a seat. When you have shows that might attract more folks than there is room in your venue, this factor may become clutch. So look for it!

2️⃣ VIPs all day. I'd be very curious to know how efficient it would be to just hammer all available upgrades on Wealth. Max that out in every way. It's straightforward and the best NFTs to do it on are probably the 3-star Wealth ones. If you have a few 7-stars to work with, it could be a nice thing to experiment with!

3️⃣ Trading. So it is still quite early (pre-launch) as I'm writing this, and there are well over 6,300 unopened packs out there. Expected new 1-3-3 NFTs at ~1 in 50 is at least 126. Call it 150. Current floor for this NFT is $180. (But I see a 3-2-2 going for $50.)

All to say: pricing these things is all up in the air right now. But in general, I'd likely either hold this or—if you can find a buyer—sell if for the gamble to roll several more packs. Don't sell under the pack price ($20), obviously, unless you're in a situation that requires fast liquidation.

 

🏝️ Land characterization

A big, rich city, possibly located somewhere remote or exotic relative to cultures that love wrestling. This place is a powerhouse of the global economy, boasting high quality of living, tons of opportunity—if you can afford the start up and living costs. Just because the demand for wrestling is small per capita, doesn't mean that a small slice of an huge pie is a bad thing.
 

WOO skews a normal distribution to make high-stat land harder to pull (makes sense, right?) The most common pull is a 6-star land, with 7 different ways the stars could be configured.
