Planting Eggplants In A Recycled Bucket Plus Regrowing My Lemon Grass.

Gardening is already part of my life and planting new plants is what I'm looking forward everyday. It seems that my hands can't just calm down if I can't plant some in a day or two. My body is looking for it. Well that's a good problem because it can benefit me and us in the end.

So I'm happy again today since I got to plant new plants in my garden or should I say in a recycled container. You know, the feeling when you recycled something that may end up causing harm to our mother earth is just so fulfilling. Because once again I got to help our planted. It may be a simple one but if everybody is doing it then it can cause a huge impact right.

Moving on,

My mother bought some seedlings of eggplants from an establishment in town. She got 6 seedlings so I asked her if I can have two of them and I'm glad she said yes hihi. She bought them for 10 pesos or around 0.19 for three.

By that price, I can say that she is lucky to be able to buy those seedlings at that price because all of the prices of things in the market went high for the past years. She also said that the seedlings already had fertilizers. No wonder they grew well.

They are in seedling tray so they just cut it. This tray is the one I want to have for I can use it to sow new seeds. This will help me to minimize the space here also.

Before planting it, ofcourse check first the organic soil for any destructible creatures and thanks there's none. I also added rice hull to it and by that I can save up some organic soil. Aside from that, it can improve the water holding capacity of the soil benefiting your plant.

Other gardeners measures the amount of rice hull to be added but for me I just have to make sure that it's not that much than the soil.

After that I filled the bucket with the mixture and prepared it for planting the eggplants. I made sure that the hole has enough space between each other.

Before I planted it, I checked first the roots of the seedlings and as you can see in the photo that they have healthy roots.

That's why I'm confident that they will not die after planting it but it still depends in many other possibilities.

So without further ado I planted it hoping that they will grow healthy and will produce good harvest for us even if there's only two of them. Well who know maybe they are very generous in the future.

And this is the final product. I used a mini sprayer to water it, making sure that it will live.

As for my lemon grass, I have a lot of them before but after those two consecutive floods, it deteriorated and leaving me with just that one. I'm sad but that sadness didn't became a hindrance for me.

I dug it from it's place then decided to regrow it. After checking it's roots, I found our that it's already withering and I found also a worm that's living in it. You can see it in the photo below.

I removed the old leaves and while I'm doing it my cat Manda seems interested and play with it hihi.

After that it left me with these lemon grass and I will plant them in a sack first before planting them in it's permanent place.

I need to do that to make sure that it will not die because it's hard to look for it here. Our neighbors here don't have them and I don't know why.

I'll keep an update about it on how it will go as I plant them in a sack first together with the eggplants. So stay tuned hivers and gardeners at the same time. Will it grow well or not? I really hope that they will.

My string bean in a can also grew well and I will add a pole beside it when it's ready to climb.
