Visiting Our Garden After The Storm.

We just experienced strong winds and moderate rain yesterday due to the typhoon Florita. We're just glad that there's nothing that's seriously damage here but I'm really sad for the other areas in the northern part of the Philippines.

The strong winds resulted to a pile of dried and fresh leaves in our surroundings that's why I was busy this morning sweeping all of them.

I was really worried about my plants in our garden at the field. I thought that they will be affected by the strong wind and may damage their leaves. Just this afternoon at 3 pm I decided to visit them to make sure that they are okay. My heart calmed down when I saw them without any damage and I was really happy to what I saw.

String Beans

My string beans have already climb their poles. I planted them nearly a month already and I was really surprise by their growth. It seems that they've benefited also to the fertilizers we applied last week before the storm. I'm just glad that the fertilizers in some of the rice fields has not been wash out.

Not all of string beans have successfully grew due to some insects maybe underground or the continous raining here.

I replaced them just last sunday and I was very happy to see them evolving into a healthy string beans. I put four seeds per hole and most of the one I replaced 3 out of them grew.

Here's the areas I replaced and I had my body guards with me. My dogs led the way this afternoon and they were very excited to run free in the field. While I'm checking my plants they are beside me. When I take pictures, they will lay down and wait for me.

Some of the string beans are already bearing fruits and ready to harvest. I planted these ones ahead of time in order for me to have good seeds to plant.

Lady finger.

Also my okras or lady finger have already opened up and I saw some of it already emerging from the soil. Their location is just beside the string beans and I'm not yet finished to plant all the remaining space.

Eggplants.

My eggplants are already big and they bore fruits for the first time. There's a lot of them and I saw something that's causing some damage to it's fruits.

Here it is, a snail hiding behind it's leaf. I'm just glad that there's no pest like those worms directly infecting the fruits but I'm not sure about it until I open those good to harvest fruits.

Water Yam or Ube.

I have some spared parts of the ube and they have already grown some shoots. I can see that it's roots are already healthy that's why I decided to plant them tomorrow or the next day. I'll look forward in harvesting them since they said that it's very delicious when it's cooked and smashed. Add some milk then it's ready to eat.

Having these in my small garden motivates me to furtherly explore the space of gardening and also the world of agriculture.

Hoping that everyone will have time to plant something in a pot or in their free space. Harvesting it later on would be great.
