Enjoy the experience of knitting using the right needle

I am a fan of researching needles and accessories that support my experience when making a work. Although I can complete a project without having so many accessories, I like to have them and use them, since they speed up the development of the project, and in other cases the projects are even neater and more beautiful.

I especially do a lot of research on needles and which one is the best for each yarn, for each project. The world of accessories in the knitting world is impressive.

As you may have seen in many of my publications, I like to know and experiment with other weaving techniques, to know the context that addresses any technique and to know the history that gave rise to it.

About three years ago I made a susu, the Wayuu Indians call susu to the bag, this bag is woven in single crochet.

Now, this bag has a throw, which ideally should be 1.20 meters long.

After selecting the design of the draft, I proceeded to knit it, I selected a complex motif for a beginner like me, but I want the draft of the susu to be wide.

I have not finished this throw yet, since at the beginning I did it only with my fingers, which I didn't like very much, since I felt that the cord to be knitted was loosening as I had to separate the threads to pass the cord and thus assemble the design.

So I began to investigate about these cords and to see which needle they used different from the fingers and the blunt yarn needle. The indigenous woman who taught me used a he blunt yarn needle.

I also tried with several he blunt yarn needle, both plastic and metal. One of the plastic wool needles I used was difficult to pass the cord through the needle hole, which was very difficult and there were cases in which the threads began to separate from the cord.

With the metal blunt yarn needle the experience was terrible, a struggle trying to pass the cord through the hole in the needle was a challenge, it was very difficult to do it.

Without trying too hard, I gave up on the metal needles, it was too complicated to knit with them.

Parallel to my little progress in the knitting of the purse throw, I kept researching on the web what would be the best needle option to knit this throw, and I still didn't have a successful result of my search.

I kept trying to advance, I tried with a plastic he blunt yarn needle with a bigger hole, although this needle allowed me to pass the cord through the hole, I didn't like that the threads of the cords where the needle passed were loosened, with this needle was the one with which I advanced the most even though I didn't like the result and the rhythm of the knitting.

I was still looking for a needle that would improve the knitting process of the susu shot, until I finally got the information 😍.

As it turns out, watching a video, which I did not save the link, it was of a Russian woman making a shot, she was using a he blunt yarn needle with a kind of nylon ring, I was shocked, it was what I needed, the video is in Russian, I do not understand but nothing, but that was not the limit of being able to identify the needle, I did not know neither brand, nor how that type of needle was called.

The important thing was that I already knew what the needle was, now I had to locate it to buy it. I got on Amazon, I started searching for wool needle, until I finally got to the one you can see in the picture, my joy was overflowing😃.

Next step, I wrote to a friend who always spoils me by giving me knitting accessories, I gave him the characteristics, he bought them and sent them to Venezuela.

Once completed the mission of getting the needle that will improve the process while knitting the throw, I can resume my project and thus finish the bag and be able to show it off and enjoy it.
