At the beginning of the year I start to face new challenges, new projects in different areas of my life, and art is no exception.

At one point in my life I became addicted to collecting socks, so much so that I bought socks all the time, my friends traveled and brought me socks. Until one day I said to myself, I'm going to stop this kind of addiction, I thought it was not healthy for my mind, I thought I should only have the stockings I needed, so that addiction was passing, but always the taste for stockings is there.

Since November last year I started to see knitted stockings on instagram and pinterest and every day I fell more in love with this technique, so I raised me to knit in five needles stockings, I will surely give away most of them 🙃.

The first thing I did was to check what two-needle materials I had, I had needles but the thickness is very wide; so for knitting stockings it didn't work for me. Although I really want is to knit with five needles.

I started to find out which needles were the best, so I could ask my friends who are abroad to give them to me as a gift, since in the country where I live it would not be easy to get them, or rather you would not get them.

Definitely when I wish for something with all my heart ❤️, what I wish for manifests itself. When I was in Christmas gift shopping last year, I went into a store that sells fabrics and has a haberdashery inside, I wanted to buy some horganza gift bags in that haberdashery, but as a good knitter I always visit the yarn and accessories aisle, what do you think, well they were selling the five needles you wanted, and there were of various sizes, that was my Christmas gift, I was so excited. I bought two sizes, 2.5 and 3.0.

This week I started my five-needle knitting classes, reviewing different contents and tutorials. I like to know the whole context of a technique, that includes even the tricks, and I'm still in that process.

It has been hard for me to assemble the stitches, to understand how to place the needles, but I know I will succeed. I keep practicing until I do.

Although the beginning of learning a technique usually frustrates me, since I like to be fast in what I do, but I keep firm that I will achieve it and I will do it well.

I imagine everything I can do with these five needles, and I want to know everything, including making mandalas, rugs and much more....

I am so excited that I can knit with three, with four and with the five needles, these needles are very versatile.

With patience and determination I will succeed, at the beginning it will be slow, but then I will have the mastery.
