Today I will tell you about my trip to Copacabana, Bolivia.
After booking at a well-known hotel in the area, we headed from La Paz to El Alto, already in the Andean highlands we headed for Tiquina, where a boat was waiting for us to take us to the other side of the coast and thus reach our destination.
Copacabana, in Quechua means "viewpoint of the blue", language descendants of the Incas who lived in the south of Lake Titicaca, in addition to being a tourist city and located 155 km from the city of La Paz. I also emphasize that it is a city of pilgrimage for the Virgin of Copacabana
We settled in the Hotel and went to explore the area. First we went to see the street sale of indigenous crafts, where we found truly beautiful pieces, reed boats, bags, hats made with aguayo cloth.
We visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Copacabana, where there is a collection of religious objects and we also find the Chapel of the Indians that is attached to the nave of the temple.
The next day we went to the Calvario hill, located northwest of Copacabana and it is approximately 120 meters high, it is very steep and has many rocks. The stations of the Via Crucis are located on its path. In pre-Columbian times, this place was considered a sacred place or "huaca". Upon the arrival of the Catholic Church, the 14 crosses and the mysteries of the Virgin Mary were built. The parishioners to free themselves from their sins, climb the hill with stones on their backs and at each station they throw them. We can also get on the road to the Andean priests, called yatitia who read the future of those interested in coca leaves and also have miniature offerings for sale in houses, cars and bills, which are blessed or challed in order to be fulfill your wishes.
From the top of the hill we can see the impressive Lake Titicaca in all its splendor.

Hoy les contaré sobre mi viaje a Copacabana, Bolivia.
Luego de reservar en un conocido hotel de la zona, nos dirigimos de La Paz a El Alto, ya en la sierra andina nos dirigimos a Tiquina, donde nos esperaba una lancha para llevarnos al otro lado de la costa y así llegar a nuestro destino.
Copacabana, en quechua significa “mirador del azul”, lengua descendiente de los incas que habitaron al sur del lago Titicaca, además de ser una ciudad turística y ubicada a 155 km de la ciudad de La Paz. Destaco también que es una ciudad de peregrinaje de la Virgen de Copacabana
Nos instalamos en el Hotel y salimos a explorar la zona. Primero fuimos a ver la venta callejera de artesanías indígenas, donde encontramos piezas realmente hermosas, botes de totora, bolsos, sombreros hechos con tela de aguayo.
Visitamos la Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Copacabana, donde hay una colección de objetos religiosos y también encontramos la Capilla de los Indios que se encuentra adosada a la nave del templo.
Al día siguiente fuimos al cerro Calvario, ubicado al noroeste de Copacabana y tiene aproximadamente 120 metros de altura, es muy empinado y tiene muchas rocas. En su recorrido se ubican las estaciones del Vía Crucis. En la época precolombina, este lugar era considerado un lugar sagrado o "huaca". A la llegada de la Iglesia Católica se construyeron las 14 cruces y los misterios de la Virgen María. Los feligreses para librarse de sus pecados, suben al cerro con piedras a la espalda y en cada estación las tiran.
