Ikea Trip + Ferris Wheel

It was just a spontaneous day. Since we have nothing to do, my sister and I went to MOA (Mall of Asia), the biggest mall in the Philippines, probably the whole of Asia.

It is located in Pasay City, and so, we have to plot an hour to get there because it might be traffic (which is not a surprise if you are living in the capital of the Philippines). Also, we planned to go in the afternoon after 4 pm because the heat is scorching hot. Always wear your sunscreen!

So things changed. Instead of going to MOA, we wanted to check out the new furniture store, which is Ikea. Up until now, I do not know how to properly pronounce the name. Surprise surprise~ I’m not Swedish HAHA! I-ki-yah? Ay-ki-yah? Whatever. 🤣

We booked for Grabcar. Though we have options for a cheaper ride which is FX, riding Grabcar is more convenient for us, and I was planning to sleep too while on board. Grabcar is like Uber in comparison to the west.

Hmm, I was supposed to blog but it will spoil the day. I want this day to just enjoy myself with my sister. I do not like to be pressured to take photos of the best angles and shts. I just want to relax. Maybe next time I go there, I will take pictures! I will pass on today’s blog~

Ikea here in the Philippines is pretty big! There are a lot of options to choose from. For bedding, kitchen, ornaments, and whatnot. We bought some and will tell you about them later.

Our tummy was rumbling, and so it is our chance to try the famous Swedish meatballs. Hmm, not sure if this is an authentic one or adjusted for the local’s tongue.

Okay, so for me, it is just ordinary meatballs with gravy, and a fancy little flag, hehe. If I would rate it, probably be 8/10. My mom’s meatballs are better haha (biased). It is not that bad or good, it is all right. Per plate is about PHP 120 / USD 2.54 (I totally forgot).

We were stuffed and happy that we took some items from Ikea. Since a Ferris wheel is nearby, why not check it out, right? It is located on the seaside. Not going to lie, the stench from the seaside is puke-able hahaha. I’m going to throw the sht up. Gladly the view is pretty so I do not have to think about it!

I have been to the seaside so many times. I swear it is prettier at night.

When was the last time you tried riding a Ferris wheel? Honestly, I cannot remember when was my last time. I have seen this Ferris wheel many times but never tried it. Welp, saving it with special someone, so someone can hold my hand when I’m scared.

It is getting darker, we should head home.

Of course, the iconic tote bag! To me, it looks like a sack of rice. Do not get me wrong, it does not look bad, but I can say that it has that texture. I saw this in supermarkets when customers brought the Ikea tote bag to avoid additional charges for plastic bags.

Three fake plants, but not as fake as your ex-bestie - PHP 90 / USD 1.63 😏

Scented candle - PHP 130 / USD 2.36. The Sampaguita flower scent is calming and zen-ish. I recommend!

Ikea tote bag - PHP 40 / USD 0.72 (Just because we have to buy it.) 😂

Total bill: PHP 730 / USD 13.27

I promise to come back there and take nice pictures to blog! 😊 Probably next time I will shop for my bedroom and kitchen. 😊
