Little World Of Insects

(Edited)

Over the weekend, I collected some macro shots of insects in our garden and town. Every weekend, it is already my routine to get up, lace up my shoes and take a walk. This time, I find some interesting insects along the way, including a fly but not really a common fly at all.

I really like macro shots because I feel like I am diving into an unseen world. Usually, we do not notice small things around us. Through the macro lens, we can see that there is an interesting subject in a small world.

So here are the shots I collected during my walk~

Mr. Googly Eyes

Look at those googly eyes. I just realized when I zoomed in on the picture. I am wondering what Mr. Spider was thinking about me. Maybe I disturbed him and gave me this stare. Well, for the photo, I did my best to get the right angle. I was scared that what if he suddenly jumped on me. I freak the hell out. I am not that scared of spiders actually. I just do not like touching or crawling in my body.

A Mysterious Fly

I was confused why a fly is in the flowers and bushes. Should it be around a dung? Well, I did my research about it. Apparently, this kind of fly is called common green bottle fly

This kind of fly is a bit bigger than a house fly. The color is blue-green with a metallic shine. The fly has dark markings too. The wings are transparent with a bit of brown color. They often show up during Spring for mating. The pollen is its source of food, that is why this little buddy is flying around the garden.

You are Bee-autiful!

Whenever I see a bee, I think of Hive, and of course the ever-jolly Jollibee. Jollibee is one of the biggest fast-food restaurants in the Philippines. Jollibee the mascot is a red bee that has a red coat and a black tie. He also has a white chef hat.

I am wondering why this bee is just resting on the bench. Maybe he is tired of flying around collecting flower juice. It was then my opportunity to take a shot at this fella. He flew the moment he noticed me, but at least I got to take a photo of him.

Conclusion:

Hitting two birds with one stone. Walking to loosen up those stiff legs and taking photos for the blog. Next time, I will try to take photos of different insects or maybe worms. Currently, we are experiencing a rainstorm. I just hope that it will not rain on weekends for me to take more photos.

That is it for this blog. I will see you in the next one! Thanks for reading!

Hey Jiji, nice pics! It's fun to observe the insect world around us. Spiders seem like they know when we're watching them 🔍
There is a Jollibee in Plano, TX, I didn't know it came from the Philippines. That's neat! I'll have to eat there some time 😋
