Taiko no Tatsujin | Play and Workout!

Hello, gamers! ๐Ÿค

Do you want to get those toned arms? Well, time to buy Taiko no Tatsujin! ๐Ÿ˜† This game has been in my cupboard for a few months now just accumulating dust, haha. I gave it a try this time. ๐Ÿฅณ Wohoo!

I would prefer this game with the physical drum controller to let those arms work. I think this game can actually lose fat on the arms since it involves the physical beating of the drum. Alternatively, if not with the physical drums, the Joy-Con strap will do (it comes in every Switch package). A fun way to play and workout at the same time.

My arms hurt ๐Ÿ˜†

As I opened the game, it was in the Japanese version. I was trusting my instinct to find the settings. ๐Ÿ˜… So I give up! I looked up Google on how to switch to the English version. The solution I found on reddit.com is that I have to download a DLC for the English version. ๐Ÿ˜… I was excited to play already, haha. I took a nap while downloading to kill some time. ๐Ÿ’ค

Finally, after 15 minutes, the English version was downloaded. On the loading screen, there are guides on how to beat the drum controller or sway the Joy-Con strap.

My current favorites are We Are! from One Piece, Zenzenzense from Your Name, and Alola from Pokemon Sun & Moon.

There are different modes on how you like to play the game: Taiko mode, party game, don katsu fight, etc. You may also want to adjust the difficulty of the game: easy, normal, hard, and extreme. Extreme is freaking out of this world rhythm. ๐Ÿ˜†

Here, I am playing We Are! in Easy mode. The objective of the game is to hit the notes in perfect timing. Red for Don (hit the center of the drum controller) and blue for Kat (hit the side of the drum controller). Additional notes are drumroll and balloon note.

Now here is the saddening part... ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

As I try to record my gameplay, my screen record seems broken. I ignored this because maybe I had to do something with the setting. I got frustrated and it turns out that you cannot record the gameplay because the songs are licensed. Ugh, bummer. I was already thinking of buying more songs such as Gurenge by LiSA and Inferno by Mrs. Green Apple. ๐Ÿ˜† Oh, well, maybe I can find a way to record my game... I will figure that out. ๐Ÿ˜… If ever I figure it out, I will post it here, of course! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you for reading! ๐Ÿ’–

No, I might only record the game play. Too bad, it is disabled.

Ahh it's a pity you can't record this game. We could have seen some really nice moves. Playing games for work out is a different experience. It's a pity I don't have a device for that.

We could have seen some really nice moves.

I need a lot of time to practice those combos.

Playing games for work out is a different experience.

Yeah, it is really a good workout! ๐Ÿ˜ Similar to Just Dance but for arms only. Also, good for coordination! Just a lil brain exercise. ๐Ÿ˜

Greetings friend, it's a shame that you couldn't record this great game and in that way be able to appreciate each of those movements, without a doubt there is still fun and having a different time playing and enjoying each of those characters. That character makes me laugh a lot and if I'm not sure I think there are other games where said character appears. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Yeah, it would be fun to record the gameplay. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Nintendo disabled it because of licensing. I'll find a way, tho. Thanks for dropping by!

I loved playing Taiko on the Nintendo DS and PSP (both versions through flashcart/hacked PSP because before the Switch, only a single PS2 entry was ever localized officially) and every now and then I would love to play them again; only that I don't have a PSP charger anymore (would have to ask my brother about it but he's living somewhere else) and my 3DS has a dead battery to play either versions.

Would have to see if there's a native PC version since emulating the Wii one has a bit of delay (and I don't have batteries to play it on my Wii lol) and while osu! has a Taiko mode, for some reason it tends to get me dizzy with the scrolling speed of the notes, maybe because I played it without V-Sync to avoid input lag (but causes tearing).

Sucks to hear that you can't get to record the game, but I had heard that some games (Bayonetta in particular) have sections with licensed songs that lock you out of that. Not exactly the same case but reminds me of a game I was playing recently on PC that for some reason likes to crash when switching between menus and races if I have OBS Studio open, so I have to start the game with it closed, and when the race starts, alt-tab and open OBS...and close it before it goes back to the menu when done.

Ohhh~~ I played Osu! but more on the clicking, never tried like the taiko type.

Ahhh~ I just deleted OBS because I cannot capture the game sound. Nothing is coming out when I stream it on Discord. Btw, I am using Mac.

Thank you for this insight! truly appreciate it. ๐Ÿ˜
