School Days Chronicles: Remembering Times I Would Love to Revisit.

Greetings !!!!

It’s no doubt that we all have some fun and exciting memories we experienced in school and if given the chance, we would definitely want to revisit them again. For me the secondary school has given a lot of memories. If I was to choose from the numerous memories I think my first week as a fresher would be one I would love to revisit. I don’t know for other senior high school but for AMASS, after all the freshers have reported to school, the following week they would normally organize a freshets welcome in honor of the newcomers.

The funny thing was that our seniors and their predecessors totally changed the whole meaning of the freshers welcome. To them we were supposed to dress very wired and awkward like mad men. So initially a group of friends and myself didn’t want to take part we thought it was just crazy. So later that night, we saw freshers putting on crazy stuffs. To the extent some studies would apply blue all over their face and cover their heads with the mob stick. I mean it was just crazy. No wonder that night was referred to as “Crazy night”.

So my school father then was like if I didn’t participate he was going to punish me. So I also decided to do something crazy, i wore my school shorts inside out, painted my face with “washing blue”, poured white baby powder all over my head, wore different shoes on both legs 😂. I also remember wearing my singlet half way on top of my Saturday wear. My friends also did some crazy stuffs, I wish I still had the pictures we took on that day.

I remember having a lot of fun that day. The entertainment prefects entertained us with good music and we danced and laughed all night. We took a lot of pictures that night. I mean it was very interesting and I wouldn’t mind going back in time to re-live that same moment. Thinking about it makes me want to go back to senior high school😂.

Another memory I enjoyed a lot at school was a term we the boys referred to as “Croni” a short term for Macroni, you know at school cooking of any sort was illegal and punishable by suspension. So what we the students do is that we would buy macroni outside the school smuggle it inside the school and use our heater and cook it at night.

What made it quite fun was before you can able to cook, you need to stay awake and wait for everyone else to sleep before we go on campus searching for the perfect class to set camp and cook. After cooking we would bring the Macroni to the dormitory and add shito and eat it. Another experience I would love to re-live.
