Inspirational Views-

When you get up more often than not, at 4am in the morning to go into a High Intensity Interval Training session; it takes a lot of self-motivation, to do it consistently.

Usually, those workouts are before the sun comes up; so looking at the moon and stars is what I have to look up to. Don't get me wrong, I love the night sky; but I don't see it as an inspiration. I actually look at it, as a calming experience.

When a sky, like the photo; I've just uploaded, is as majestic as that one, that gets me going; because it represents a lot to me.

That photo was in my iPhone camera roll and it was from one of the recent running events, my fiancé Tiffany and I participated in. Actually, one of our favorite events. When you live in Florida, the opportunities to do these running events are plentiful; but some of them, just outshines the others.

One of the coolest things, when you show up at these events; it's that is usually and rightfully so, very early in the morning. Running under the Florida sun is brutal, so it has to be scheduled accordingly.

Usually, Tiffany and I are getting up before the sun comes up to ensure we get decent parking, get our tracking bibs if we weren't able to get it before the race and just making sure we (really me) gets to the best possible pace spot.

I like to stand right about the 9 miles per hour running speed pace section, so that it keeps me at trying to maintain a finishing time under 30 minutes. Tiffany runs, but is not a runner; so she stays towards the back and I just wait for her with a bottled water in hand and of course the picture I take of her as she crosses the finish line - always proud of her.

Once we get there and settle in and the skyline starts opening up and you start breathing the fresh air, as it's usually a park nearby or at a park; then I start feeling blessed to be alive another day, to have the chance to run at another event.

Growing up in the ghetto, I didn't look at a sky the same way; because you never believe that there are optional environments; that can bring out that type of feeling.

Now, that I'm less than a month away from my 56th birthday, each beautiful skyline that I can look up at; means I woke up to live another day.

Do you race against other people or is it a self-timed pace?

This is a beautiful read - it's inspirational because I didn't grow up in the ghetto but I often take things like the sky, or just the privlege of being able to be healthy and fit, for granted.

I'm going to try and get out there right now and walk my animals and take time to look at the sky and reflect.

Thank you - have a good rest of your day. God bless.

Ah, i was wondering why you are getting up so early. My preferred running is in the morning, but a casual 8am or so. In the summer after 9 it can start to get too hot already, but not like you probably get in Florida.

Love the photo Jimmy, you smashing out on the track!! Makes me wanna get my Asics on!! Lets get to work :)

Wow! 4 am?

Advance happy birthday! So you're 10 months older than me, but I see such energy and strength in you when I was in my 30s. 🤣

It's not easy, especially at this age; but yes @rzc24-nftbbg, I tend to scrounge deep for that fountain of youth lol.

3 am is a great time of the day. It is quiet, nothing going on. I get a lot done from 4 am until about 7 when my wife gets up.
