The Climb

To learn in life, is to take away the little things; that turn out to be of great importance. As we grow into adults and our experiences change, we begin to deal with challenges that we really never had as kids.

Of course, there will always be children on this planet that will suffer things that we could never imagine and I can't speak to that; but I can speak to what growing up on the wrong side of the tracks does to a person and how to keep fighting until it isn't an excuse.

I searched through my iPhone camera roll to find the right picture to upload today and found this photo from a special time in my life. This was taken at the Grand Canyon and without question is the Top 10 moments of my existence. Talk about majestic.

At the time, this trip was taken with some friends and my ex-wife; so it's bittersweet. Nothing against my previous marriage and the person I was with for over 15 years including being married, but lamenting a bit that the trip wasn't with my fiancé Tiffany. Overall, it was a trip with 4 wonderful people.

That brings me to regrets and why I work very hard to suppress them. I have a bad habit of saying, "if only I would have" and honestly; I say it less as I get older. Here's the thing, with my ultimate goal in mind, there is no room to move on to my next life with regrets.

So, right around the time I went on that trip, it was early on during the start of my health and fitness journey, being a member of where I do my HIIT sessions and still do; this allowed me to walk up these mountains.

I mean, before that; I was abusing my body for many years and don't believe; I could have been as active or feel as good as I did during the trip. The weather was surprisingly amazing with some coolness until we moved on to our next destination, which was in Phoenix and I ever never ever never experienced heat like that. My eyes practically boiled. It was insane and I live in Central Florida, born and raised in New York (summers there are brutal) and got the worst sunburn in my life at a business trip in Las Vegas. Combine all that and that was how hot it felt in Phoenix.

So metaphorically, putting that into context; that trip and walking up those mountains, was me leaving a lot of what used to be me - behind. The decision to go all in on eating healthier and working out for the rest of my life was the decision, being consistent and doing it not just talking about it, was the execution and the results have been life changing.

I now work hard to approach looking back, as the path I have taken, the journey I continue on; as I climb towards my ultimate goal and never having a regret ever again.

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

it's incredible how you can see the way the canyon has been eroded away over time to become what it is now.

Sounds to me like you and your fiance need to go to the Grand Canyon and make some new memories.

Lovely post - so inspiring. I read your Actifit post as well but I love this too. Many thanks. For me it will be a big climb to get back to where I was but the first step is what matter and then to take things from there. Thanks again.

Great photo!!

I am sure that trip was a wonderful trip. If you ever want one to top it with your fiancee, try Yellowstone. Start planning it at least 1 year before you go. Popularity and restrictions can make it difficult to get reservations.

I love this, yes! Making that transformative decision, not looking back, has life-changing implications.
