The LEOthreads Effect on a LEO Noob

the leothreads effect on a leo noob.png

I'm still like a kid in a candy store when it comes to LEOthreads and I'm far from being as active on it as the already hardcore group of amazing LEOS that are crushing it on the platform already.

I never used words like bullish, much before joining HIVE, except for maybe when I was in my early twenties and worked on Wall Street; a few doors down from the New York Stock Exchange for a stocks and bonds clearing corporation, many moons ago.

But I'm optimistic about LEOthreads for many reasons and I've already have said why in a few posts, on The Cryptomaniacs podcast, tweets, etc.

Today's post is about how much of an impact it has on someone and I'm sure some others that see LEO to be full of complicated engagement dealing with and centered around financial subjects.

As I continue to reminisce during the week I hit the two year mark on HIVE, I invested a bit in LEO, but only because of my introduction to this amazing blockchain by being a member of CTP.

I tried the whole CUB thing when it came along and it frustrated me just to figure out the whole MetaMask process and have some in there that honestly don't even know if I can get to it, because may have misplaced my MetaMask password, phrases, etc.

So, just like not being a gamer and still wanting to earn from the likes of Splinterlands, investing in dividend type tokens was the way to go for me.

Of course, it helped that the CTP team is behind HE-Index an index of the best performing tokens in the Hive-Engine market and allowing me to earn rewards that has LEO among others, which allowed me to be part of must have tokens in one form or another.

The same goes with SPI including LBI. I also have a pinch of LEOM.

Now important to note, I earned or invested in this stuff very early on and it was more on who was behind it than me knowing what the heck it was truly all about.

As time went on, I started keeping my circle of priorities to growing my HBD and HIVE Power and a full press on ListNerds, but I have a handful of tokens that I do earn from that I also am happy to have, which were early investments in effort, time, relocation or fiat. Maybe not much, but I value the core of them very much. I believed in them or was excited enough to go in on them and have not forgotten I have them.

Of course, along the way you learn about delegating HIVE power and how much of a difference that truly makes and as my HP grew it allowed me to delegate to the likes of Actifit, Brofi, Ecency, HiveHustlers and some others.

All this has a point.

Getting back to @leofinance and knowing how HUGE the platform is, but being intimidated by it and with the introduction of LEOthreads it became possible for someone like myself to be part of LEO in a different capacity, but still continue to earn from it, grow from it and ultimately learn as much from it.

Truth be told, right before LEOthreads was mentioned; I decided to delegate the most power I ever had given to anything on HIVE. At least a lot for a person that only has been on HIVE for two years.

After seeing how @jongolson and @taskmaster4450le discussed the continued growth of LEO on their podcast it dawned on me that I have to make a bigger move and have confidence that it will all fall into place in my brain at some point.

So talk about timing, with all the stuff going on with the defi's, threads, etc., I'm happy to have done it.

What makes the whole thing much more gratifying is that once I decided to delegate 1000 HP to @leo.voter on June 1st it was before threads hit the scene, but now I felt more part of it.

Sounds silly, but it's different when you have skin in the game.

Here's the thing about the things mentioned above, it is all still a bit mystifying for me, because I'm not experienced or skilled enough. I can't have a coherent and long conversation about trading, liquidity pools and CUB defi's or anything of the sort.

LEOthreads opens the door for that dialogue or that entry to that world, because there isn't that pressure of going in and having to engage based on it.

It allows for HIVERS like me to encounter those who thread about something you can relate to outside of finance and click with someone who when they thread about a topic that normally, I would feel oblivious to in the finance sphere; learn and mentally pick up things here and there that may come together and actually give me that fucking aha moment.

Shit, I have had aha moments on a Tweet why not a Thread?

I’m haven’t tried threads yet but I’m hearing and seeing nothing but great things about. The leo team is just killing it right now, I’m still super excited about the changes to cub finance myself.

But yeah I’ll probably get that app downloaded sometime this week hopefully… I’m always late to stuff unfortunately

It’s never too late, you just marinate a bit before going in. Nothing wrong with that.

At least you understand it enough that when you start using it, that it will be butter.

Happy Thursday 🙏🏼

I haven't played around with threads as much as I was hoping at this point. I have just been so busy with the start of the school year. Pretty much all of my waking hours are dedicated to that. Well except this comment of course!

LOL, hey at least is something.

Once it levels up, folks like you and me with limited time will make great use of it.

There are a lot of things about the Hive I find complicated and confusing, Even worse, I have to maintain detailed written instructions about how to liquidate my crypto if I am not around. Therefore, I am ultraconservative with the crypto. Thanks for sharing.

Kept it for myself to come back to when expanding my investments! It's great that Hive teaches these things!

I am totally with you on this, Jimmy.
I have always been intimidated by Leo Finance and many of the smart people who use it regularly.

Leo Threads has made it a lot more approachable for me.

Hahahaha! As I read further here, I kept tilting my head all the while wondering what you must mean.
I haven't fully been immersed in the Leo threads thingy. Tbh, I'm very much still finding my way among alot of things. Now, I see I have to quit my postponing stuff... I'm being left behind!!

There is much to do here on the HIVE blockchain, so I understand. Just keep showing up and find your groove and then crush it 💪🏽🐝
