Hello Beautiful Hivians 🤗

I was born and I did grow up in the beautiful city of Ilorin here in Kwara State of Nigeria. I have practically lived my whole life here in the city. 4/5 has been in Ilorin city and the remaining 1/5 was in Suleja & Kebbi where I had my High School and National Youths Service respectively. Occasionally yes, I went to my parents’ villages where I spent days or maximum of weeks there. I truly enjoyed my holidays there but some experiences in the rural community versus those in the urban area would determine my preference of stay. Let us have an interesting ride below:

EDUCATION: here in Nigeria, there is a large divide in educational standards when comparing between the urban and rural areas. I would choose to live in the urban area if for educational purpose.

EXPOSURE: civilization and technology keeps revolving and science keeps bringing improve to living. The urban area has access to the infrastructure, internet, developments, science and exposures before the rural areas. A lot of knowledge is obscured in the rural area in terms of factors aforementioned. The urban area is not void of negative exposures such as environmental pollutions, radiation, processed meals which when considered to the rural area demerits living in the urban areas. We thus find more healthy and aged people in the rural areas who live simple lives and have limited exposure to factors that may shorten their lifespan.

HEALTH: I want to state that there are diseases that actually exist in the rural areas though not as frequent as seen in the urban but, these diseases are largely under-diagnosed. If resources and statistics are channeled to the rural areas, one would be surprised at the number and array of diseases. In the urban area, there is better access to healthcare providers though in Nigeria, the ratio of doctor to patient is unfavourable. There are enlightenments and provisions for improved healthy living in the urban area compared to the rural area.

TRADE AND COMMERCE: the industrialization of any community is influenced by trades engaged by the community. Any community thriving in trade and commerce always attracts investors and developers. Social amenities are provided both for the permanent and visiting residents. This same trade and commerce is what brought colonization to the African community.

HIVE: Hive is one of the many blessings that have brought food to the table for many. It is an advantage of technology thereby digitalizing the society and helping to improve content creations. There are rural areas I would dare say are unaware of the digitalization of world-wide currencies.

It is undoubted that living in the urban area has its disadvantages but, they can be minimized and thus, live a life much more comforting as compared to the rural area. I would still choose to live in the urban area and occasionally revert to the rural area for vacations and to experience the serenity of the rural area.
