I'm in one of those stages where I tend to enjoy editing my photos as much as I enjoy taking them. And this happens to me especially with street photography.

Estoy en una de esas etapas en donde suelo disfrutar editar mis fotos tanto como hacer sus capturas. Y esto me sucede en especial con las fotografías callejeras.

What happens is that, looking at the photos calmly on my PC and doing the processing, I can observe the details of the image without haste. Then it is possible to "listen" to the stories of the people who appear in these images stolen from the everyday life of the people.

Lo que pasa es que, mirando las fotos ya con sosiego en mi PC y haciendo el procesado, puedo observar sin premuras los detalles de la imagen. Entonces es posible "escuchar" las historias de las personas que aparecen en esas imágenes robadas a la cotidianidad del pueblo

Doing street photography (at least the way I do it) has a very palpable philosophical touch, because I tend (in most cases) to become alien to the scene and capture it in the rawest possible way.

Hacer fotografía de calle (cuando menos como yo la hago) tiene un toque filosófico muy palpable, porque yo suelo (en la mayoría de los caso) hacerme ajeno a la escena y capturarla de la forma más cruda posible.

So here, in the loneliness of my office, editing all this on my PC, is perhaps when all the dramas and truths that some of these street photos contain come to me.

Entonces aquí, en la soledad de mi oficina, editando todo esto en mi PC, es quizás cuando se me vienen encima todos los dramas y las verdades que encierran algunas de estas fotos de calle.

But, obviously, this has a lot to do with the type of place in which I take these photos, because it's an environment full of deprivation and conflict, so all of that seems to "explode" in the images, giving them a very particular drama.

Pero, obviamente, esto tiene que ver mucho con el tipo de lugar en el cual yo hago estas fotos, pues es un entorno repleto de carencias y conflictos, entonces todo eso parece "estallar" en las imágenes dotándolas de un drama muy particular.

I've been doing this for years, and yet it never ceases to amaze me how many stories take place every day in practically the same streets as always... It's like an endless carousel of dramas to photograph.

Llevo años haciendo esto, y si embargo nunca deja de sorprenderme la gran cantidad de historias que se suceden a diario prácticamente en las mismas calles de siempre... Es algo como un carrusel infinito de dramas para fotografiar.

Today, for example, I couldn't go out in the street because the rain is constant and never seems to want to stop. So I rummaged through my hard drives for some RAWs that I had left unedited and spent the whole morning preparing these photos for this post, which are my entry to today's #monomad challenge.

Hoy, por ejemplo, no pude salir a la calle pues la lluvia es constante y parece no querer terminarse nunca. Así que rebusqué en mis discos duros algunos RAW que había dejado sin editar e invertí toda la mañana preparando estas fotos para esta publicación, las cuales constituyen mi entrad al reto #monomad de hoy.

These are photos which have in common the human presence and a certain air of uncomfortable and complicated reality, typical of these corners of the third world, where poverty advances without haste or pause, as if it wanted to eat away at people's hopes.

Estas son fotos que tienen en común la presencia humana y un cierto aire de realidad incómoda y complicada, propio de estos rincones del tercer mundo, en donde la pobreza avanza sin prisa ni pausa, como queriendo comerse las esperanzas de las personas.
