¿O debo decir instintivo?... Bien, de la manera que sea, lo que quiero decir es que algunas veces la fotografía es curiosamente elocuente... Tanto así que no sabemos en realidad si nosotros estamos haciéndola o es ella la que de alguna manera nos hace a nosotros.

Entonces deambulo por mis calles, o las calles de esta gente que me rodea, o las calles de no importa quien demonios sean... Simplemente las calles, y ese sonido que tiene palabras, que van diciendo cosas inexactas, pero que de alguna manera entiendo.

So I wander through my streets, or the streets of these people who surround me, or the streets of no matter who the hell they are... Simply the streets, and that sound that has words, that go around saying inexact things, but that I somehow understand.

Yendo más allá de la foto, mezclándose quizás con la psiquis colectiva de este pueblo y arrastrándome a mi mismo a sus entreveros, como queriendo comprenderle.

Going beyond the photo, blending perhaps with the collective psyche of this people and dragging myself into its entanglements, as if trying to understand it.

Llamo a este tipo de fotografías "Retazos" y no hago esto porque parezcan trozos o partes recortadas de una foto entera, no... En realidad les llamo así porque me transmiten la sensación de estar informando algo de una manera inconclusa, confusa y quizás algo desordenada.... Pero al final de todo, a su manera, terminan por llevar a cabo su cometido de dar a entender ese "algo"...

I call this kind of photographs "Snippets" and I don't make these because they look like pieces or cut-out parts of a whole photo, no... Actually I call them that because they give me the feeling of reporting something in an inconclusive, confusing and perhaps a bit messy way. .... But at the end of the day, in their own way, they end up carrying out their task of making that "something" clear...

Ya lo dije: "Esto se trata de deambular divagando"... Como si caminase narcotizado entre las ocurrencias del pueblo, escuchando voces que dicen cosas, que hablan de tiempo de antes que todavía sigue ocurriendo.

Sea esta entonces una "catarsis híbrida" con un maridaje extraño entre fotografía y lineas divagantes, que desnuden un poco esas caminatas por los rincones diminutos y vernáculos de las calles del pueblo... Esos que parecen exudar pequeñas gotas de pasado y de conflictos.

^{PEQUEÑA NOTA TECNICA: Todas las fotos fueron capturadas en formato RAW con mi vieja cámara Nikon D7000 y mi apenas levemente menos viejo lente zoom Sigma 18-200mm... Esa es mi combinación más común para fotografías de calle, debido a la flexibilidad que me ofrece al momento de disparar invirtiendo poco tiempo.... La edición de las imágenes se realizó con Adobe Camera RAW en donde se realizaron ajustes varios de luminosidad, claridad, afilado y contrastes.... Con los JPG resultantes se trabajó en Photoshop CS6 en donde se convirtieron a modo Escala de Grises y se realizaron ajustes con la herramienta de curvas y niveles, al igual que un agregado de 1% de tonalidad amarilla y posterior ajuste de contraste y luminosidad... El recorte, las marcas de agua, enderezamiento y marcos, fueron realizados con PhotoScape 3.6.1.}

^{LITTLE TECHNICAL NOTE: All the photos were captured in RAW format with my old Nikon D7000 camera and my only slightly less old Sigma 18-200mm zoom lens... That's my most common combination for street photography, because of the flexibility it gives me when shooting with little time to invest. .... The editing of the images was done with Adobe Camera RAW where various adjustments were made to brightness, clarity, sharpening and contrasts.... The resulting JPGs were worked on in Photoshop CS6 where they were converted to Grayscale mode and adjustments were made with the curves and levels tool, as well as an addition of 1% of yellow tonality and subsequent adjustment of contrast and luminosity... Cropping, watermarking, straightening and framing were done with PhotoScape 3.6.1.}
