Hello to all my dear monochrome friends at #Hive!... This is another edition of my black and white street photography series "Stolen Stories"Bold and it's my entry to today's #monomad challenge!...So let's get to the pictures!

¡Hola a todos queridos amigos monocromáticos en #Hive!... ¡Esta es otra edición de mi serie de fotografías callejeras en blanco y negro "Historias Robadas" y es mi entrada al reto #monomad de hoy!...¡Así que vayamos con las fotos!

"Julio"... I had never taken a photo of Julio before, even though we are neighbours and our houses are only a couple of streets apart. However, Julio always looks serious and distant. I have known him since I was a kid and he worked as a policeman at the local police station. Back then, when I was playing with other children, we always saw him coming with his usual unfriendly face and dressed in his blue uniform. In spite of all this, in recent days I saw him standing on a street corner in front of his house and I said to him without thinking: "Hello Julio, do you want a photo? Then, without answering any words, he just gave that half smile (with which he is portrayed) and seemed to pose a little... This is perhaps the most unexpected photo of my week! :)

"Julio"... A Julio nunca le había hecho antes una foto a pesar de que somos vecinos y a nuestras casa les separan apenas un par de calles. Sin embargo, Julio siempre luce serio y distante. Le conozco desde que yo era un niño y él trabajaba como policía en la jefatura local. Entonces, cuando yo jugaba con otros niños, siempre le veíamos venir con su acostumbrada cara de pocos amigos y vestido en su uniforme azul. A pesar de todo esto, en días pasados le vi parado en una esquina de la calle en frente de su casa y le dije sin pensarlo: "Hola Julio, ¿quieres una foto?"... Entonces, sin contestar ninguna palabra, solo esbozó esa sonrisa a medias (con la cual sale retratado) y pareció posar un poco... ¡Esta es quizás la foto más inesperada de mi semana! :)

"The old lady in the Farriar St."... Awwww... Here she is again!... She's a stray dog and she's lovely. I've known her for several years now, but it's been months since I last saw her in the "Farriar St." where she always used to wander. I assumed that she had passed away :( but this week I met her again in the same street... She is a lovely creature and recognised me immediately when she saw me!... I'm imagining, due to her long absence, maybe this little dog has a home and escapes from time to time... I hope that's what it is! :)

"La viejita de la Farriar"... Awwww... ¡Aquí está nuevamente!... Es una perrita callejera y es encantadora. La conozco desde hace varios años atrás,pero transcurrieron meses desde que la vi por ultima vez en la "Calle Farriar" donde siempre acostumbraba a deambular. Llegué a suponer que ella había fallecido :( pero esta semana la volví a encontrar n esa misma calle... ¡Es una criatura encantadora y me reconoció de inmediato al verme!... Me estoy imaginando,debido a su ausencia larga, si quizás esta perrita tiene un hogar y se les escapa de vez en cuando... ¡Ojalá sea eso! :)

"Child playing in the street"... The oldest son of my friend "Guachi" has got used to me taking pictures of him every time I pass by the street in front of his house. So it's like a ritual now, and he even poses with some of his toys for me to take pictures of him and then send them to his father. :)

"Niño jugando en la calle"... El mayor de los niños de mi amigo "Guachi" se ha acostumbrado a que yo le haga fotos cada vez que paso por la calle del frente de su casa. Así que ya es como un ritual, e incluso suele posar con algunos de sus juguetes para que yo le haga fotografías y luego se las envíe a su padre. :)

"Corner, house and cat"... Wow! This was one of the photos I liked the most last week, it's a lovely combination of a corner with an old house, with its bare walls and that fantastic cat there... A photo impossible to avoid!

"Esquina, casa y gato"... ¡Caray! Esta ha fue una de las fotos que más me ha gustado de la semana pasada, es una combinación encantadora de una esquina con una casa antigua, con sus paredes desnudas y ese fantástico gato allí...¡Una foto imposible de evitar!

"Last street kids"... At the end of the village, where the streets end and the hills begin, children are often deprived... At the end of the village, life is harder and childhood is sometimes not happy enough... I know, because I grew up going to those houses at the end of the village to play with my friends and classmates at the local school... So, when I look at children in those lonely streets, I am flooded with memories.

"Niños de ultima calle"... Al final del pueblo, donde las calles terminan y comienzan las colinas, los niños suelen tener muchas carencias... Al final del pueblo, la vida es más dura y la niñez a veces no es lo suficientemente feliz... Lo sé, porque crecí yendo a esas casas al final del pueblo para jugar con mis amigos compañeros de clases en la escuela local... Entonces, cuando observo niños en esas calles solitarias, me inundan los recuerdos.

"Francisco"... The young son of my friend Roberto has followed in his father's footsteps and is a regular cyclist, so to find him practising under his father's tutelage on an improvised local track was an opportunity I couldn't pass up to take a photograph of this promising youngster in this action sport.

"Francisco"... El joven hijo de mi amigo Roberto ha seguido los pasos de su padre y es asiduo practicante de bici-cross, así que encontrarlo practicando bajo la tutela de su padre en una improvisada pista local, fue una ocasión que no pude dejar pasar para hacer una fotografía de esta joven promesa de este deporte de acción.

Roberto (bottom right in the photo above) was a national champion in this discipline some 30 years ago. Today he spends his days off coaching his son and other youngs who still have a passion for this extreme sport, despite the high cost of equipment and the logistical difficulties they face in organising and attending events and competitions.

Roberto (al fondo a la derecha en la foto de arriba) fue campeón nacional de esta disciplina unos 30 años atrás. Hoy por hoy dedica sus días libres a entrenar a su hijo y a otros jóvenes que siguen teniendo pasión por este deporte extremo, a pesar de los costos altos de equipamiento y las dificultades logísticas a las cuales se enfrentan a la hora de organizar y asistir eventos y competencias.
