A Happy and Memorable Nutrition Month Celebration

This was truly one of the happiest and most exciting days for us as a family. Everyone was looking forward to celebrating Nutrition Month with the kids, their parents, teachers, and, of course, our wonderful sponsor, Pandayan Bookshop in Alicia, Isabela. It was a simple school celebration, but it became a very special memory that we will treasure for a long time.

Before going to school, I prepared Matthew’s contribution for the Nutrition Month celebration. I decided to order mixed fruits because I thought fruits were the perfect food to bring for an event that promotes healthy eating. I wanted Matthew to share something nutritious and colorful with his classmates. Seeing all the different foods prepared by the parents made the celebration even more exciting because everyone contributed something for the children to enjoy.

After everyone had arrived, the celebration officially began. One of the first activities was a painting activity. The children were given aprons to paint, and since it was Nutrition Month, they created beautiful fruit-inspired designs on them. It was so nice to see the kids participating and enjoying the activity together. Some were very focused on their paintings, while others were simply having fun experimenting with different colors.

As a parent, moments like this are very heartwarming. Sometimes we get so busy with our daily routines that we forget how important these simple experiences are for our children. Watching Matthew and his classmates laugh, paint, and participate together made me realize how much they are learning beyond the classroom. They are also learning how to interact, share, participate, and enjoy activities with other children.

But the most exciting part of the celebration was the costume contest!

For this special occasion, Matthew’s daddy, Jayson, prepared something very unique and creative. He made a pineapple costume using egg trays! It was such a creative idea, and the costume really stood out. Even the headpiece was designed in a fun way, with the pineapple leaves placed upside down on his head.

We were so excited to see Matthew wearing the costume that his daddy had worked hard to create. It was not only about winning a prize for us. It was about seeing the effort and creativity that went into making something special for our little boy. We were already proud of him just for confidently wearing his costume and participating in the activity.

Then came the moment we never expected!

Matthew won the Best in Costume Award!

We were incredibly happy and proud when his name was announced. Pandayan Bookshop gave him a lunch box as part of his prize. Seeing him receive his award with a big smile on his face was such a precious moment for our family. It made all the effort that went into preparing his pineapple costume even more meaningful.

After all the activities, another much-awaited part of the celebration finally came—lunch time!

The children enjoyed lunch together with their classmates, while the parents also had the opportunity to spend time and socialize. For us parents, this was another important part of the day. We want our children to grow up knowing how to interact with other people, make friends, and enjoy being part of a community.

We truly enjoyed every moment of the celebration. From preparing Matthew’s fruit contribution, watching him paint his apron, seeing his unique pineapple costume, celebrating his Best in Costume award, and finally sharing lunch with his classmates and their families, every part of the day became a beautiful memory.

This Nutrition Month celebration was more than just a school activity. It was a day filled with creativity, healthy food, laughter, friendship, family, and unforgettable moments.

As parents, we know that our children will continue to grow and experience many new things. That is why we want to treasure these little moments while we can. One day, Matthew may not remember every detail of this day, but we will always remember how happy and proud we felt watching our little pineapple proudly wear his costume.

This Nutrition Month celebration will definitely be one of the most memorable school experiences for our family.
