How to Make Pandan Ogura Cake

Well, this Tuesday, Ema and I will share a recipe for pandan ogura cake. why is it called Ogura? I read several articles that this Ogura was first introduced in Batu Pahat, Malaysia. however, there is still no complete article on why this cake can be called Ogura, if you know it you can comment below this post. This cake is now quite popular among home bakers and there are several recipes that have modified this cake into several different flavor variants. Well, the ingredients for making this pandan ogura certainly don't require a lot of money and you can buy all these ingredients at the nearest supermarket or market. The first ingredients you have to prepare are 5 egg yolks, 1 whole egg, instant coconut milk, sugar, 5 egg whites, salt, cooking oil, pandan paste, lime, vanilla powder, flour and salt. after you have prepared all the ingredients, now let's start the first step.

The first step, what you have to do first is prepare a bowl and put 5 egg yolks, 1 whole egg and 1 sachet of vanilla powder. Next, stir until well blended using a whisk.

the second step, after you have stirred the eggs until they are well mixed, then all you have to do is add 85 grams of flour, 1 pack of instant coconut milk, 10 ml of mineral water, enough salt and enough pandan paste. After that, stir until well mixed and the color changes be green.

the third step, after you have stirred until well mixed and the color has changed, set the dough aside. the next thing you have to do is prepare a mixer and put 5 egg whites and 1 tablespoon of lime or lemon juice. Then, mix until slightly foamy. make sure the mixer is clean and there are no traces of oil, because if the mixer is a little oily, the egg whites will not expand perfectly.

the fourth step, after the egg whites have been mixed until a little frothy, the next thing you have to do is add 95 grams of sugar gradually while you mix until the sugar runs out. mixer until egg whites are white, fluffy and trailing on full speed.

the fifth step, after the egg white dough has traced and expanded, then gradually put the egg white mixture into the pandan mixture that you previously set aside. stir slowly until the egg whites are finished and well mixed with the pandan mixture.

the sixth step, after the dough has been stirred, the next thing you have to do is prepare an oven and a baking sheet. Then, we will bake the dough with the Au Bain Marie technique, this technique is popular all over the world and not all cakes can use this technique. Add enough water to the oven pan and heat it for about 10 minutes.

the seventh step, while the oven is being heated with the Au Bain Marie technique, then prepare a cake pan and put parchment paper into the pan as in the photo above.

the eighth step, after you have prepared the cake tin for the dough, the next thing you have to do is enter the dough gradually and slowly until the pan is filled to the brim. Next, hit the tin to the table so that no air is trapped in the dough.

the last step, after the dough has been put into the pan, the next thing you have to do is put the dough into the oven that bristle the pan with hot water. then, bake the dough at a temperature of 160 or 170 degrees Celsius, with fire up and down for about 50 or 60 minutes depending on the oven you use.

and finally, you can eat pandan ogura cake with your family or friends. This pandan ogura cake is really very soft, you can see for yourself the texture of the ogura on the top is really very smooth and the inside of the ogura also looks very perfect.
