How to Make Purple Sweet Potato Awuk Cake
Yooo hello my fellow hivers and all the hive communities from around the world wherever you are. Come back with me, Jodi and Ema, on the blog of food and snack recipes that are very easy for you to make yourself at home without spending a lot of money or time. Happy day to those of you who are relaxing at home or working at the office, I hope you are all well and have a great day. Thank you to all hivers who have supported my previous post. So, on this sunny Thursday, Ema and I will share a cake that is unique and originally from Indonesia. This cake is made of rice flour and several other ingredients. Usually the awuk cake uses brown sugar, but because my mother and I were curious about purple sweet potato, we tried to modify the awuk cake with purple sweet potato. For those of you who are interested in this recipe, just see the recipe below and good luck.
Well, the ingredients that you have to prepare to make this unique cake are of course very cheap and you can buy them at the nearest supermarket or market in your city. The first ingredients that you have to prepare are rice flour, salt, sugar, purple sweet potato, grated coconut, vanilla sachets and print. After you have prepared all the ingredients for this recipe, now let's start with the first step.
The first step, what you have to do first is prepare enough purple sweet potato with good quality, peel everything and wash it clean. Then, cut the purple sweet potato into several parts like the photo above.
The second step, after the purple sweet potato has been cleaned and cut, then prepare a steamer and heat it for a few minutes. After the steamer is hot, add the purple sweet potato pieces and steam for a few minutes until cooked.
The third step, after all the purple sweet potatoes have been steamed until cooked, then prepare a bowl, add 5 tablespoons of rice flour and also a piece of pandan leaf. Next, steam the rice flour for 15 minutes.
Fourth step, while the rice flour is being steamed, then crush or mash the cooked purple sweet potato using a spoon or fork like the photo above.
Fifth step, after the purple sweet potato has been mashed, then prepare a bowl, put the steamed rice flour, a pinch of salt, 1 sachet of vanilla powder and 5 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Then, stir the dry ingredients until well mixed using only a wixer.
Sixth step, after the dry ingredients have been stirred until well mixed, then all you have to do is add the crushed purple sweet potato and knead the dry ingredients until it becomes a dough that can be formed.
Seventh step, after the purple sweet potato has been kneaded until it is well mixed with the dough, then add just the grated coconut and knead the dough again until the grated coconut is well mixed.
The eighth step, after the dough is finished and mixed evenly, then prepare a mold of any shape and put all the dough into all of the molds. Then, compact all the dough with a spoon to make it denser and thicker.
The last step, after all the dough has been put into the mold, then heat the steamer for only 10 minutes. After the steamer is hot, put the mold into the steamer and steam the mixture for only 20 minutes.
And finally, you can serve purple sweet potato awuk cake for your family or friends. I think you can imagine how delicious and unique this cake is. I didn't think that this purple sweet potato would match well with the awuk cake. If you are curious, just make it and prove it. Thank you to all hivers and the community who have supported and visited my post today. Don't forget to give suggestions to be more enthusiastic about making other recipes. See you and good luck.
