I am in Lagos at the moment trying to get some documents done. It is my third time in Lagos in two months and from the previous two occasions I stay for about 3-4 days.

Today is my fifth day in Lagos and I currently can't tell when I will be back in Cotonou because nothing works in Nigeria so I have to keep hoping by some miracle things works out for my own good.

I was at Access bank at Alaba for tge first time yesterday without my niece, she has been there with me twice and I have to get some stuff done on my own so as not to keep disrupting her activities. She has been a darling!

Alaba Station

I used to commute via Alaba daily to High School at Mile II which is a little further away.
Alaba has changed, I had to rely on the writting "Alaba Station" to know I have arrived there.

Aside from the bridge that was constructed because there wasn't a bridge before I left for SA. I can't entirely say am impressed because Nigeria is capable of much more than it doing development-wise.

A railway line is under construction from what I see, hopefully it doesn't take another century for construction to complete.

I could have taken more photos but honestly am scared.

Take care buddy, you seem to be having a hard time. I hope everything works out.

Lagos seems like a crowded city, I hate crowds and noise. Thanks for the nice shots.

Am having a hard time buddy, things don't run smoothly here.

Am not one for crowds too, I prefer quiet and less crowded places.
Thanks buddy.

Lol considering what I went through last month while travelling from Cotonou to Lagos, I was told being born, schooled and grown up in Nigeria doesn't make me a Nigerian.

So am treading carefully before I get smacked for taking photos.

It's good you didn't take more photos, I'm telling you, area boys are probably lurking around and looking for people to take money from. We are living in a backward country and it's going to be difficult to explain to anyone that you're using those pictures for blogging purposes.

I have picked up that what is normal elsewhere isn't permitted in Nigeria when extortion or bribery is the aim, people can go extreme.

So am being very careful and staying within my boundary.

Alaba Station Lagos built with help by Public Enterprise financing Blue Line. Smart, new and hopefully start of progress in moving people in a safer manner to taxi's. Sounds similar to the Gautrain much shorter distance with plans to extend hopefully.

Nice photography, fully understand how nervous one gets trying to capture for fear of being mugged !LOLZ

!LUV and good luck moving forward with documentation required.

Interesting that you read up on it, I didn't. In that case, it is similar to Gautrain, I wonder if Blue Line will have to provide an alternative source of electricity to run the train because relying on state electricity doesn't look like a plan that will work from what I have seen.

It is 3 days and counting no electricity at my sister's the one hosting me. I travel 9km to my other sister to go charge my phone and power bank.

Thank you, I have to get what I want and get out one way or the other.

Blue Line engineering put in private electrical grid for train, forward planning very established in a region where power is a problem around every corner as well.

That is a long break hope it is fixed soon, how do the medical facilities manage up there with such long outages/collapse in power?

City you don't wish to visit but have to, take care.

It seems Blue Line is ready to serve Lagos, that will be nice for transportation in Lagos, some of the buses are not road worthy and belong to scrap yards but still operate on the road.

The line is long when I was at the medical centre on Monday, I trust they have backup electricity usually a generator in place for outages which is a norm.

I have to and am trusting and hoping it pans out the desired result in the end. I've been so absorbed here I haven't chatted with Grant, once all of this is out of the way, he is going to be a great help in guiding me.

Road transport appears much the same throughout Africa, trains if maintained are a far better route for all.

Hope no waiting and electricity available on the day you go in, people too reliant on electrical power it's amazing!

You will have plenty of time to chat once organized he is busy servicing some of his older clients here (night time there), his day putting out CV wherever he can with almost 2 months of the 5 already gone.

African needs to explore train as a mode of transportation more. Southern Africa seems to be doing better.

I hope the process is smooth without delays on Tuesday when I go in.

I dropped a message to him few hours ago and he responded almost immediately considering he should be sleeping.

Let's be hopeful he gets a job sooner.

I understand you, Jackie, it is sad that am not comfortable in the country I was born and grew up.
A lot has changed over the years, I don't see how I will ever live in Nigeria happily if I would.

I will be here this weekendd, hopefully I will be back in Cotonou next week.

Thanks and you too.
