Crypto for freedom yet time consuming, are we really in for freedom?
As humans we seek freedom in every aspects of our lives, freedom in finance, travel, clothing, speech, etcetera.
While some being of higher importance than the other, financial freedom ranks up there and to establish that have caused man to slave after money in all sort of ways. Ways that have gotten most of us stuck in the rat race.
Seeking financial freedom have led some of us to investing in crypto with the goal being free of less work and having time to spend with our loved ones.
Considering the amount of time crypto demands of us are we really free?
Route 2 FI puts out a tweet about this which sparked some interesting conversations.
Many of us got into crypto for the freedom, yet ironically we became slaves to the 24-hour open market and are (in a way) less free than before.

From a personal experience, the last five months have been my busiest on Hive, the routine has been wake up around 06:00, stay on Hive till late say between 22:00-23:00, my breaks from Hive or any crypto related activities is when chores needs attending to like shopping, cooking etc. Basically my entire day is spent doing my crypto stuff.
For some it is a more or less same time input towards crypto activities. This is where freedom comes in, are we really free?
To answer that we might have to look at what freedom means to us individually in relation to finance.
Financial freedom to me is being able to afford my financial needs, and the means of earning that money has to be the exclusion of being bossed around, I don't want to report to work daily programmed on when to arrive, have lunch and when to go home. I want to see the doctor whenever am ill and not need a permission from the boss or provide a proof I was at the doc. Now that defines financial freedom for me.
The time I spend on crypto related activities is far from watching fixedly at market movement, that is the last thing I do as am not a daily trader but more of an investor focused on yields from my stakes with the goal being increasing the size of my stakes.
I am actually loving the amount of time crypto is demanding from me it has become more of a hobby, even though I came for the money, I found myself staying for the community, the technology and actually freedom.
The freedom to send crypto to the other person without an intermediary is appealing to me and not have my funds seized.
For me the truth is I probably will be depressed and hopeless without crypto considering the hardship going on in our world presently. Crypto helps me to look on the bright side of things where others see pessimism.

This for sure is very relatable, crypto has been a crazy time-consuming activity for me these past 5 years. Even though I love it and it's helped a lot toward my financial goals, I can't help but see time passing by quickly. I watched a youtube video on this subject a couple days ago that also addressed this subject
Time becomes very limited to us crypto investors, I have become very stingy with my time, I don't spend it unproductively which is a habit I appreciate crypto have impacted on me.
Interesting video you shared, very similar to this post, the movie "Margin Call" I've never watched it, I will make time to check it out 🙂
Am glad to hear to positive crypto have had on your financial goal, always good to hear positive impact on people's lives. Thanks for the comment.

I think it depends. If you are trading then it can definitely be a 24 hour job. I do think that people need to invest either time or money to get that financial freedom.

Investing time or money even both the better for financial freedom. I don't trade but it takes most of my time, I can imagine the traders, it must more time demanding.
