Golden Hour Earlier In May 2023
It was the 3rd of May, just a few minutes from the 17th hour, the sunsets around that time over here in Benin. It amazes me when I compare it to sunset in Johannesburg, South Africa which is often around the 18th hour during summer.
I have formed a habit of going for a walk during golden hour, I am still finding it tough with the heat over here in Benin so I save every walk for the evenings.
On this day I wasn't in the mood for many walks, I must have done less than a kilometer on the beach, I was more interested in the fresh breeze, so I found a log of wood where I sat and did some curation on Hive.
My love for photography is re-emerging so I tend to find beauty in things around me and this time, I was seating on a log of wood that begged to be photographed.
Not much of the sunset was photographed the way I would have liked it. I notice the sunset has been consistently moving inland compared to February when I arrived in Benin it was at the edge of the sea from my location.
Talking about location, I have shared a Google map of where my photograph was captured.
It is laughable when I look at Benin and then Nigeria to the right so big. Benin is better, and Togo is even smaller. I was once in Togo, just an in-and-out, I can't say much about it.
So this is my golden hour walk earlier in May 2023.
We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great

Yes, it is very hot in Benin, west Africa generally, thankfully the beach is close by for fresh air which is often very refreshing.

The best hour of all, the sky gives us the best of its color palette. I am a faithful admirer of the golden hour, one of my favorites, the ones I can contemplate in front of the sea. Greetings.
Likewise, I can admire the golden hour all day, it is amazing the beauty the sun leaves behind as it creeps away. And here I like having a view of it most is on the sea, which always looks divinely beautiful.

The view of the sun is truly astonishing if you ask me. I've not been to a beach area for a very long time. I think beautiful objects can ignite one's passion for photography again. You're really enjoying Benin apart from the heat.
Thank you, Jose, I guess with time my obsession for the beach will subside now that I am at the coast, I was missing it a lot when I lived inland in Joburg.
Aside from the heat, I am having a good time in Benin, to be honest.

The trail of the sun as it sets over the horizon is beautiful. The golden hour is a great experience in watching the transition from day to night. Benin is really nice tbh. Nigeria is big!

Thanks, bro. Each time I am around the city center of Cotonou, it amazes me how small the country is. It is interesting to look at the map, some have never heard of Benin.
