It can get very lonely in New Zealand especially if you recently moved there like me as it is almost 2 months since my move to NZ.

Fortunately, my colleague enjoys exploring, so we made the best of the Christmas and New Year holidays to explore the South Island.

Today we drove to Akaroa, a beautiful town with a colonial history.

I have a few photos to share, but I am sharing my lunch with you today.

Felix and I had Thai Fried Rice made of eggs, carrots, cauliflower, peas, cabbage, broccoli, onion, and spring onion.

It was my first time having a Thai meal and it was 😋👌

Aha good to know you are enjoying, I used to eat fried a lot. But now I am trying to avoid fast food. I hope you will eat this more often 😜

Fried rice is always good. I am glad that you like it and I tend to eat fast food quite a bit when I get busy.

Yes I found myself eating more fast food here than I uesed due to busy schedule and being too tired to cook after a long day.

I miss eating fried rice, the local type that is served by local restaurants. Thai fried rice looks more tasty with its many ingredients :)

I missed it too, I haven't had it in a while so it was an opportunity to try Thai fried rice and it was very delicious.

Holidays are the hardest. I was lucky and a friend from the Netherlands came to visit. Normally my holidays are quiet.

Spending time exploring best way to enjoy time off, being away from everything familiar will dampen mood now and then, at least you found someone to go around learning to try different in the beginning.
