When the Weather Wins | Devils Creek Track Attempt 🇳🇿

I recently shared photos from Tobins track overlooking Arrowtown, it was the same day that I attempted Mt Dewar through devils creek track.
The cell site at Tobins track hill is the parent and at Mt Dewar is the child so I had to drive over to Mt Dewar after I was 80% done at Tobins track hill but the weather forecast wasn't a friendly one on that day.
I attempted it and was about halfway up mount Dewar but decided it was safe to make a U-turn before the weather got worse as it began to rain and strong winds picked up.
Devils creek track was very narrow at some sections of the track, I managed to make a U-turn with the slightest of space that I got and called off the work as it was too risky.
The following week on a better weather day, we attempted Mt Dewar but it was my colleague up Mt Dewar and I was at Tobins track hill because it is a microwave link upgrade and he said I made the right decision to turn when it was raining as he slide at some sections of the rack due to he melted frost from the mountain.
I wish I made it up there but the weather was against me.
I think it was a good idea to turn back. The roads seem a bit rough, and bad weather is not nice. Things could have gone bad if you forced it.
Yeah my experience of mountain track paid of knowing it gets slippery and vehicles can slide. I am glad to have made the right ✅️

I'm wondering if it's okay to walk or stay in that kind of place at night.
By the way, those are nice shots.
I don't think there's any facility for night camping up there besides it's very cold and definitely not a place to be at night but day time offers a great time for walking on a beautiful weather day.
Thank you 😊
