Recap of how my picks for last weeks' UFC 251 went and my picks for UFC 252

Current ROI is negative: -19.76% (AWFUL)
MMA record keeping started on: Mar 2, 2019
Total units risked so far (always flat 1 unit): 41
Total units won or loss so far: -8.102 units
Current record and negative ROI: (22-18-1), -19.76% (AWFUL)

I got both of my picks right... both were heavy favorites so my capping record is only a little less bad than before.

I chose Alexander Volkanovski to beat Holloway and although I got my pick right (Volkanovski won by split decision), it was a really REALLY close fight and it could easily have been judged as a Holloway win instead. A lot of people though Holloway won and I can't blame them. Obviously the value was on Holloway for this fight as he came in as a big underdog.

I got the Kamaru Usman prediction right and the fight pretty much went like I thought it would. Usman grinded out a decision win over 5 rounds with wrestling and heavy clinchwork. Masvidal did take the fight on only 6 days notice so I'll give him props for that, and who knows what he could have done with a full training camp.

My thoughts on UFC 252 today

**Jack Hermansson (1.85) vs Kelvin Gastelum (2.02) **

I'm really kicking myself for not taking Jack Hermansson earlier when he was an underdog to Kastelum. I was already leaning towards Hermansson because of his better grappling but just couldn't pull the trigger. Since then, the line has moved heavily to Hermansson from 2.15 underdog to 1.85 favorite. All the odds value has been taken out of the line on Hermansson but I'm having deep FOMO, so I'm going to take Hermansson at bad odds. I think he wins by 3 round decision or maybe submission.

My pick is Jack Hermanssson.

Deiveson Figueiredo (1.46) vs Joseph Benavidez (2.85)

I'm picking Deiveson Figueiredo to beat Benavidez again. He missed weight by a crap ton in their last meeting so maybe he had an edge, but I'm thinking more likely that it was just that he was a better fighter. I'm thinking second verse, same as the first...

My pick is Deiveson Figueiredo.
