Cultivation on a Small Plot: Don’t Wait for Perfect Land—Start Farming with What You Have

You may be wondering what use you can make out of that small portion behind your house, well this post is here to give you a heads up on how to put your small portion to use.

I am in a place where there are little to no available lands to farm on the extra land behind your house could go a long way if only you can decide to pick up your hoe and cultivate that land.

You can pick up a crop that's going to be easy to cultivate and also fits the soil and environmental conditions around that place plant as much as the land can take.

It helps you avoid unnecessary land waste—especially in areas where land is a scarce commodity. Sometimes, you have to get creative with everything around you, including the land right at your doorstep.

Most of these plots of land end up overgrown, or worse, become dumping grounds for waste. These neglected spaces can easily turn into breeding spots for dangerous creatures like snakes and scorpions—and I’m sure that’s not something you’d want anywhere near your family.

How are you putting the land behind your backyard to use, what crops did you plant, and how long will it take before you are ready to harvest from it?

Thank you for visiting my blog 🙌

Good advice! I would have loved to have land like this behind my house... my property is mostly heavy hardpan clay. I actually had to spend a few years MAKING soil.

Here is a good use for the soil and it's important to cross check the kinds of crops that will grow in a particular region as against the weather and soil quality. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Yeah, exactly what I did at my backyard, just a little space and i turned it into a good garden where I planted cassava and sweet potatoes, they are looking exceptionally beautiful and it makes me happy, thank you for this.
