We probably know Ewedu by now as the fresh slimy green vegetables that complete so many meals, especially in Yoruba land in major parts of Nigeria, especially when it is served with Amala but have you ever paused to ask if that all it's good for or there's more to it?

I used to 💬 think that Ewedu was just "soup leaf 🌿" a regular part of our diet and nothing more than that, because of this I would dread any time it was used to make soup because it was far from being my favorite 🤣 soup but when I started to grow it and learn more about it myself, learning about it's nutritional, medicinal, and market value I have come to realize that this slimy humble leaf 🌿 has more to it than I had ever imagined, more to it than just a vegetable leaf that's tossed into the pot of soup.
