Important improvement from the wild sheanut plant to the domesticated ones

HELLO HIVE

My first time encountering shea nut at a processing facility left me surprised at how long it takes for this plant to fully produce, for the wild shea nut trees it takes atleast twenty years for it to produce and if you look at the demand rate for shea butter and how we can only grow shea nut trees in limited regions then we will come to a conclusion that the production rate for a plant with such a long gestation period will result in the product not meeting its level of demand in both the local and international market.

To cut down its long gestation period is the reason why we now have the improved shea nut trees with gestation period of 5-7years and these new improved seeds has reduced the time it takes for these plant to grow, mature and produce.

Improved seeds in agriculture has been very helpful to many farmers reducing the amount of years it takes for this plants to produce, increasing the nutritional quality of these plants and also reducing the problem of disease and pest.

The reduced amount of rotten and cracked seeds also help the optimal utilization of this plant.

Yes that because of how scanty the plant is even though the butter that is gotten from is used for so many things like in some of the cosmetics been used out there
