Fluted pumpkin popularly known as ugu in Nigeria is a plant that needs special attention to grow property, the lobe and fresh leaf that it has makes it exactly open to been eaten by herbivores from the taste of this plant in your soup you would get to understand why those animals would do anything to grab a bite from this succulent plant.

That's why growing this at home where there are lots of herbivores on the loose means special attention has to be given to it if I ever want to have a bite of what I have sowed.

Planting this leaf vegetable in a garden has always been the way I tend to prevent exposing them to these animals but they seem to grow wise by the day with most of these animals trying to stretch themselves so hard just to get a bite and with the condition of where I live there are no laws prohibiting these animals from moving around, so trying to cub this own my own has to be the best plan for this.

There's this thing my mom used to make them stay away which was mixing some water with their dung and pouring it on their leaves to make it irritating to them when they come close to it , but these can only work while they are still young since I my self would want to eat out of it as time goes on, so the best way was to make a small garden make a some woods over the to and have the plant climb to the top using a rope as a support and since the plant have some rope that usually grow out of their stems like grabbing tentacles then that means it would be able to support itself as time goes on.

In conclusion

This idea I believe is really good enough to tackle cases like this, knowing that it not on protect and provide support for the fluted pumpkin that I have planted but because it is very economical for small land spaces like in the case where you are planning to plant it in a small garden then you can have land area to plant more seedlings which also provides you with the same result in the other case.
