Just some few weeks back I added a new plant into my small spaced garden very close to the fluted pumpkin i had planted earlier and the reason I could not resist planting this spice was because of its health benefits and also how aromatic and delicious it would be.

Scent leaf or fever leaf as some people may call it is very common here in Nigeria and some parts of Africa like Ghana and from the name scent leaf you could tell that it was a plant that gives out a very strong and attractive scent any where it is planted.

This home grown shrub is used as spice due to its aromatic smell and sweet unique taste in the food that it is used to prepare.

This one in my garden was not initial planted in my garden but was gotten from a friends farm who had lots of this plant on his farm land, just few weeks after planting it has completely blossomed.

Health benefits of scent leaf or fever leaf

Scent leaf is not just popular cause of just its aroma but it is even more because of it's health benefits and how much it can contribute to our body the presence of lots of antibacterial and antifungal properties makes it very good and healthy for the the body and it does not just stop at those but it also contains vitamins e.g vitamin A, phosphorus, calcium and other important properties.

The presence of antibacterial and antifungal properties is the reason why some people prefer to call it fever leaf and another important benefit it has is that it is also good to have it during meals or immediately after meals cause it aides food digestion.

Locally it is also used to cure dysentery and cholera and it reduces bad cholesterol and increase blood circulation which improves the heart condition and so many other benefits that I could not mention cause there is still a long list of them which is the reason why I was so bent on planting this aromatic leaf in my garden no matter how small the space was I just wanted to have this cause of the amazing benefits I could get from it and am so happy it picked up well since I transplanted it from it's initial place to my garden.
