Everything you need to know about the newest café "kraze" in Cebu! KAHOY Café: a Bali-inspired coffee place🌴🌱🌿☕
I am super glad I said yes because today had been such an experience! 💚 An hour of travel going to the place is SUPER WORTH IT.
My friend sends a screenshot.
I opened the message.
It was a page in Facebook of a new café. It piqued my interest when I read the word "Bali".
"Let's go this weekend? I need a breather." It was Hannah's message (not in exact words but that's the gist)
"Hell yeah count me in. Needed some fresh air, too" I replied.
🌿🌿🌿
Here are important things you should know about the "trendy coffee shop we all see in Facebook" - KAHOY café!!
📌 The café is located in Tilhaong, Consolacion, Cebu. The road is very accessible even if it may be a bit bumpy. It is just 5 minutes away from SM Consolacion, in front of The Greenland Cabins.
🌱 Their soft opening hours run from 11 in the morning until in the evening. They only open Tuesdays until Sundays. Last call for order may vary depending on the volume of people who visit.
🌱 They have free Wi-fi (be sure to ask their friendly barista) and there is cell service in the area, too! (Even if it's in the mountain area. Hurray for cell towers! Haha)
🌱 Walk-ins are surely welcome - their tables are in "first come first served" basis.
🌱 Good news for all the pet lovers out there!!!! It's a pet-friendly cafe. 🐾
🌱 There is spacious parking space available next to the cafe so fear not for those who have wheels!
🤍🤍 How was our experience?
SWEET! 🫶
A bit annoying. 😮💨
Serene.🌿
Even though Hannah and I had difficulty in figuring out which was to go from SM Consolation to Kahoy, I would still call the day awesome.
We rode a "habal habal"/ motorcycle from SM to the place. We paid 40 PHP each to the driver. As soon as we arrived we then went to the counter to order. It's pay as you order. It was 12 noon so we were super hungry and so we were quick to choose what our order will be.
Hannah chose Chicken Bite Bowl and a soda while I picked Bacon & Egg Breakfast Meal plus their signature hand-pressed coffee with milk and vanilla ice cream. We got Chips and Dips to share. We paid 790 PHP for everything - this is a reasonable price given the quality of their food. 🥰
We then went "up the stairs" of their nipa hut or what we call as "barong barong" (makeshift house). The view was good up there - so sweet! The breeze was pretty cool and the sight from up above is amazin. ✨
Hannah and I got to catch up with the recent on-goings of our lives. We were able to vent our feelings and expressed our angst with work and work stuff and yeah just work in general hehe.
We had a going at it. Until we were annoyed because we were so hungry and it's been thirty minutes and our food was not still ready. 😶😶🌫️😑🫥 It was around after forty minutes since we ordered that FINALLY our meals were ready. I then picked them in the bar - yes they do not serve their food you have to go get it yourselves.
Their food? Hmmm. The bacon meal I had was so-so. It was fine. Hannah said the spicy chicken fillet was GOOD. I had a bite and yep I can confirm the chicken was tasty! Their chips are so-so and so as the dips that came with them
Their coffee?? NOW THAT I LIKE. It was strong and the milk with ice cream somehow balanced it perfectly. I enjoyed the part wherein I poured over the presser coffee to the glass of milk and ice cream.
We spent the rest of the afternoon just chilling at the place. Even when the midday sun looked angry and glaring, I loved that it was so cool in the café. 🌴🌿🌱💚
By the way! "Kahoy" is a Cebuano-Visayan term for tree. 🌳 It's kahoy café because I mean - I should not state the obvious hehe.
The place has got some Bali vibes and I dig it.🏝️ It's also pretty peaceful even when there were quite a few people in the place. The greens around you can be so therapeutic I reckon.
I am rating this café 9 out of 10 (if their time to prepare the meals would shorten I would give them the perfect score hehe). Do I recommend you go?
Definitely!!! Visit this place. It's worth checking out. It's a break from the busy city life. And who knows. You may find the peace of mind you're looking for.🤍
