First time here at Starbucks 'Dakong Balay'! #DumaGetMe
It is finally off my bucket list - WHOHOOO! 🥳
I have always wanted to visit this particular Starbucks store because it has an interesting story: an old house (more like antique) in Dumaguete which they renovated and turned into a Starbucks place. Pretty cool, right? You don't get to see that every day.
As with houses of old here in the Philippines, the house's stone walls are probably a hundred or so years old already, but it has been built to withstand the test of time.
There are two floors in the store - the first floors has got limited seats so if you are coming in with a large number of people I suggest you occupy the seats on the second floor as there's much more space there for a group.
They have seats by the garden, too. This is where I and my niece KC seated since we brought our fur babies! Our doggos cannot get inside as per the store policy so if you are keen on bringing your fur babies you would have to be seated outside, in their garden area.
The overall feels inside this particular Starbucks café is HOMEY! 😍 I guess because it's literally a home that got transformed into a store? Maybe. Or maybe because I went there with my entire fam and the the vibe is already a given? Maybe. Or maybe because the people there were warm and the staff were friendly? Maybe. But the place has got magic and whenever I visit Dumaguete again I would never miss to visit this place again. That's for certain. 🥰

I have visited some Starbucks here and there and there are a lot of places where they preserve the style and spirits of some original spots. You really get some pretty unique vibes.
That's good to know. This is the only Starbucks I've visited that has preserved its original place. Almost all Starbucks here in Cebu City are in malls so they are pretty much new buildings, you know. Thanks for sharing that, it's new info for me☺️😍
Looks cool in there and alot different than Starbucks in Europe .
I would have to agree - yep it definitely looks cool!😍🤩 How do the Starbucks in Europe look like?☺️
Oh, it really looks more homey, we don't have starbucks in our area yet so I never tried starbucks in my entire existence. I wish I can visit there someday, even in a different branch, hdhe.
Yes it does look so homey 🥰😍 I hope you can come and visit us here in the Philippines then!😘❤️
Hehe, Pilipino meee 😭☺️😂🤪
oooh hihi hello kabayan! 😄😅 @ruffatotmeee
Hello @jongcl
I can't tell from your photos because I'm only able to view them on my mobile... However, I think that the restored building is one on the boulevard in Dumaguete that I always admired. I thought it would have made a great hostel, and if it's the same building, a Starbucks is a superb addition to Duma.
(The building that I am thinking of was a mint green colour before)...
Hi @millycf1976 😊 as per checking this Starbucks place is an old house turned into a store - yep this one's in the boulevard 😍
Dumaguete has really leveled up, as per my sister who used to travel here because of work😁
Ok, it's really great to hear that. I love Duma!😍
This part made me laugh because it's exactly what I was thinking while reading
HAHAHA glad that made you laugh😅 thanks for dropping by my blog!!
I have never tried a coffee, it is starbucks, but I would like to do it sometime in my life, the wish list sounds interesting, I am going to make one and check off the ones I make, the store looks very nice and as you say it looks like a home, that is beneficial because when you enjoy a coffee you want to be relaxed surrounded by friends, family or maybe even alone, the important thing is to feel good while having a nice cup of coffee.
oooh yeah you should try it sometime and cross it off your bucket list! and the coffee from Starbucks do not disappoint!! 🤩
the store is warm and cozy - pretty much like home, really😍 That's so true - when you're surrounded by family the coffee experience is much, much better💗💗💗
