WeekenDates 002: Bestie Decides to Quit Job Convo (feat. Abaca Café!!)

Welcome to another blog post on my #weekend shenanigans, dearest friends. 🤸
I was so happy to catch up with Haj last Sunday and as per usual we spend the afternoon at Abaca Coffee Shop in Ayala Center Cebu, the one in Rustan's. We love that the place is quiet thus perfect for us who had so much to catch up on.
One of the things I cherish most in my season of singleness is being able to have time to talk with my best of friends. I maximise this opportunity because in the future, who knows, when the right person for me arrives, I won't really have so much time for my besties anymore. As people say there is no time like the present.
This SunDate with Haj we talked about career - as we always do, to be honest. This meeting was sort of a highlight on the "career talks" because my bestie has decided that he is going to quit his job soon. He then went on and on about what is wrong and unacceptable about his work and that all his efforts and energy are not worth the salary he is getting.
I probed and asked him a couple of questions like, "Are you sure? You went through hell to get that job." and "If you quit there's no getting back and you know that, you won't forever not teach anymore?" Haj always has answers (lol) and he told me that he's certain - he's giving this "sh***y" (word from him) job a few more months and he's out.
He asked for my opinion about it. What I said was simple: "It is your life and your job, no matter what I think, at the end of the day it's your decision that matters. Know that in whatever pursuits you have you can count on me to support you and be here for you."
(PS, Abaca's coffees and pastries ARE GOOOOD~!! You oughtta try em. *wink)
