Coffe and Memories, TCSP#151
The places we visit many times remain in our memory, sometimes for no apparent reason. Or rather, they can be reasons as simple as the company, the feelings, or the memories that awaken from other similar moments.
I like the question of the challenge of the week because it reminds me that a place does not always have to be dazzling to remain in our memory. That was what happened to me with this last coffee shop, which I have gone to on several occasions and which brings me memories of other times, of another life as I like to say. Remembering the past I realize how different we are in the cycles of our existence, and yes, this coffee shop called Amelia awakens memories of another era.
The coffee shop is in the Miramar Business Center, a complex of offices and shops where different companies, both Cuban and foreign, are located, very well known in this part of the city. In its surroundings there are stores, restaurants, and other coffee shops, and Amelia is one of them. Its name I imagine is linked to the work of the painter Amelia Peláez since its interior design is inspired by decorations and colors similar to those of her paintings.
Visiting this place brings me nice memories because quite some time ago, another life, I already said, I worked in one of those offices and used to come here with my workmates. They were very special years full of sincere friendships and fun moments. At that time we did not come so much for the coffee but for the pizzas and milkshakes that were sold, which were delicious. Of course, from time to time we also ordered a tasty espresso coffee .
These photos are from my most recent visit, a few days ago, and this time I could not resist having an aromatic coffee that tasted wonderful to me. It was very tasty and in this wintertime a hot coffee is the best to lift the energies and the mood.
This was also a memorable moment that I will treasure along with my other memories, because it was a family visit in which we shared a pleasant time.
Places can be like bridges between the different moments of our lives, reviving the memories of the past in the present.
Cheers to everyone in this community of coffee lovers, and until next time!
