Appearances in Asian culture

I have always been interested in Asian culture, its architecture, its gastronomy, its education, its bonsai, its anime and its mysticism; and in the latter I think they surpass any culture, or can be compared to the Hindu with its large number of spirits and deities.

Asian culture is very rich in this sense, and some things can be very similar to those found in Europe and its American colonies, every civilization on the planet has some way of interpreting strange apparitions as they are the balls of light or flames floating in an apparently supernatural way.

In medieval China they were described as "Pearls that shone over stagnant bodies of water" and were so recurrent that pavilions were built to admire them from the shores of Xinkai lakes.

In the folklore of the natives of Australia the phenomenon existed since before the arrival of the Europeans, the same in India and Pakistan, but in Japan the folklore is taken to the next level with the yokai, among which there are spirits of people with a curse above or not necessarily evil apparitions.

There are several yokai that can be interpreted as apparitions in the form of a fireball, such as ubagabi, which is the spirit of an old woman who stole oil from the hiraoka chapel and as punishment fell a curse that made her lose her body and wander like a ball of light that terrifies people by following them to feed on their souls, but that disappears if you say out loud aburazashi – oil can, this myth makes me super creative I think they won, scary but fun.

My question is that if it is a common phenomenon that appears in many places and at different times, why is there no clear evidence of this phenomenon, why are there no 4k videos of will-o'-the-wisps if most people now carry very good cameras quality on their phones.

One hypothesis is that the places where this phenomenon was so common no longer exist, the bodies of water have been transformed and sanitized to meet the needs of the human settlements that continue to grow throughout the world, unaltered swamps and swamps where matter organic matter that can break down slowly are increasingly rare.

I personally have not seen this phenomenon, but I know people who claim to have experienced it so I have an open mind if you are one of them please write in the comments in the most detailed way, I am very curious.
