Japan, the fifth nation to land on the Moon

The Japanese space agency managed to gently land its Slim ship on January 20 at 0 hours and 20 minutes Japan time, but unfortunately there is a but and that is that although most of the equipment carried by the ship is in good condition Something has gone wrong with the orientation of its solar panels and that is a very serious problem, because the panels are what must provide energy to the ship's batteries.

According to the Japanese space agency, the solar cells are not currently generating energy and technicians are currently giving priority to obtaining data from the slim on the moon.

Upon landing, the slim ship has two small lunar exploration vehicles and various scientific equipment, including a camera whose mission is to analyze the rocks found in the Shioli crater, which is where it landed. It also has a very curious mini Rover. ball-shaped built by the Tommy toy company in the same company that manufactures the Transformers.

These mini rovers, although they look like toys, are going to be very important in the future exploration of space, since several of these small rovers acting at the same time can explore a very wide area, analyzing the environment and sending the data to a central office that will then decide. What is the most interesting place to send a large Rover laboratory or on a human mission.

This is not the first Japanese attempt to reach the moon. A year ago, a private Japanese company and SpaceX tried to land on the moon but their ship, the Hakuto R, ended up crashing to the ground after making an altitude calculation error with their computer, the Japanese space agency. It has extensive experience managing to land on two asteroids and now it has finally managed to land a ship on the lunar surface, thus making Japan the fifth nation to reach the moon after the Soviet Union, the United States, China and the India.

La Jaxa believes that the slim's battery went out as soon as it landed on the moon due to lack of energy. Those responsible for the mission have calculated that the ship landed in this strange way as we see in the image above, but there is still One hope is that the solar panels, although poorly placed, are facing west. The technicians hope that these solar panels could capture energy for the ship when the sun begins to illuminate them.
