In the future, one of the things for which our time will be remembered will be for being the one that began the discovery of worlds beyond the solar system, also known as exoplanets, to date the existence of 5,243 have been confirmed, but it is barely a minuscule number of the tens of billions that may exist in our galaxy alone, including millions of worlds like Earth.

Perhaps life may have arisen in some, you would like to discover or help find one, well now you can because NASA invites you to participate in the Exoplanet Watch project where you can use your computer, your smartphone or your telescope to help track new worlds.

Exoplanet Watch started in 2018 is one of the space agency's science activation programs that allows anyone to experience how science is done and discover the universe for themselves, until recently there were limits on how many people they could help to look through from data collected by other telescopes and observatories, but now this program is easily available to anyone.

What you have to do is follow the instructions on the site participants can download data to their device or access it via the cloud and then evaluate it using a custom data analysis tool, for example Exoplanet Watch allows you to convert a series of photographs of a star during the transit of an exoplanet in a light curve using a free software called EXOTIC.

Light curves help astronomers to learn more about exoplanets as a scientist, citizen you can learn about the new worlds and study them too and also if you have a telescope you can get to observe an exoplanet in transit.

One of the achievements of this program was the discovery of the exoplanet HD 80.606 V discovered thanks to the work of 20 program volunteers. This world will be one of the objectives for the year 2023 of the James Webb Space Telescope, which will be able to analyze it in detail, who You know, maybe that webb analysis will give us some surprise about this new world.
